AMD is the morally superior vendor. AFAIR they haven't ever vendor locked any features unlike nGreediya. They also have libre sourced official drivers inside the Linux kernel.

If you switch to AMD from Nvidia on Windows, you'll need to reinstall Windows because Nvidia drivers does not uninstall itself cleanly resulting in worse performance and stability issues
