i got 16 today on graphene and it's the same shit
why does jewgle still come out with a whole new release every year? isn't it mostly stable now? do they do it just to make people upgrade?
tbf i know marshmallow looked the same as lollipop but at least they added useful features

Is it over? Can I no longer have a private phone? Should I not waste money on buying another pixel if they're just gonna lock the source code?

>windows user is confused about updates
Just because your OS is literally the same from 2009 (not a joke; internal development was frozen after Windows 7) and only receives bloatware as "updates" doesn't mean the whole world should follow the example.

sidebar; it is my opinon that every GrapheneOS user should use Silence Messenger which encrypts SMS and MMS messages FOR REAL. it is a complete app there are no updates and is no longer maintained, but it really encrypts text messages in REAL-TIME

sidebar; it is my opinion that anon should suck my anal sphincter which excretes shit and diarrhea bits FOR REAL. it is a complete experience there are no wipes and is no longer cleaned, but it really stinks anon in REAL-TIME

android was feature complete in 4.4, every other update afterwards just made it more resource intensive so you need newer phones to do the same thing

They had to increase the version number quick to match iPhone's iOS cause retards thought lower numbers of an OS was considered 'old' which affected sales for android phones.

There's a lot of changes in the background. First off, all breaking API changes need to be in a new version. Things like changing how apps can access the filesystem. Then there even lower level changes like upgrading the kernel to a new version, and rewriting some of the Android systems to be upgradable from the play store (something they have been working on for multiple years now).

You are just too stupid to understand what he is saying. Windows does not make breaking changes for the most part so they don't need to release new major versions. The only point of new major Windows versions is to increase the minimum hardware specs. And Windows controls the entire stack unlike Android where the kernel comes from one source, the drivers come from another out of tree source, and then OEMs take the base Android code and reskin it and add or remove different features. You need yearly major releases to coordinate all these things reasonably. You can't do all this in a rolling release. Someone who only uses windows or thinks in a Windows mindset would not understand this. That is the relation to Windows.

"Groundbreaking" i dont think this really applies to android too much desu, the only things ive noticed in later revisions was restricting microphone recording on apps, disabling access to the data folder, screen recording needs permissions that often dont work, and at this time all apps on the Play store have ads written all over them. It isn't much of a negative look on that side of things for normal usage but i sense they will restrict even more that will tend to annoy us.
