Internet service providers have to be rigging the whole speed test thing.

Internet offerings keep getting more expensive with wilder and wilder claims of achieved speeds. But I notice in practice all of it has to be fake as I experience significant delays in basic tasks despite high speed test and low latency results.

It's all fake!

No?
I get 1.8Gbps symmetric with low ping all the time
>internet offerings get more expensive
they’re cheaper than ever

it's rigged, you are hella stupid
ISPs have tagged the IP address of speed tests, and always allow the full connection to that site, so your tests will always come up nice and fast.

https://myspeed.ai/index.html

try this one, it gives me half the speed of other tests, perhaps not yet tagged by most ISP's

you click a link and it takes 30 sequentially delivered javascript transmissions with tens of ms delays to actually load the webpage. your connection speed is truly that fast. it's just that websites are fucking retarded.

I've been convinced for like the past 10 years that ISPs give you a temporary speed boost as soon as you access a speed test. This has happened on maybe a weekly basis for over a decade
>internet gradually gets slower and slower, videos buffering even at low resolutions
>go to speed test
>fast as fuck
>all videos load super fast even at 1080p
It's oddly consistent, every time my internet is unbearably slow I just run a speed test and it's all better.

I have a lot of issues sharing screen on teams, people bitch to me all the time that it's not loading, or extremely slowly and freezing.

The big name speed tests put my speed arounfd 450 down, 500 up

some other tests I just tried dont nearly achieve half of those values

it seems all rigged and fake

peering is getting really bad
i play p2p vidyogaems with a burgers from west europe and there's loads of packetloss + jitters from my network to his
gotta cope with shitty vpn to hop on a decent network to hop the atlantic

Your speed will only be as fast as the server you're receiving from. Especially noticeable in web browsing when you have a high speed package.
It's kind of like plumbing - The city's water in your neighborhood might be perfect, but if your building has old pipes, it's shit quality by the time it pours out of your faucet.

If you want to really test your speeds, torrent something that has a ton of seeders and you'll see the real cap.

fast.com (netflix) and speedtest have ISP servers all over the world in a few hops of your location so they can trick you into thinking you'll get good speeds/peering to other services like youtube/twitch/steam other crap
Anonymous No.105861362
Your internet speed doesn't matter that much if the server you want to connect with is slow, i.e. either throttling to limit bandwidth or tracking shit slowing the connection down.
I get constantly full speed when I download but YT still loads as fast with my 200mbps connection as with my old 32mbps one.

yeah I bet OP is just an americunt, they literally have third world tier internet there.
we get 1+ gigabit fiber for 20€/month and our mobile data packages are 150-200 gb for 6€ a month here in yuroope.
and it keeps getting cheaper and cheaper, that's what happens when you have competition and the whole market isn't completely owned by 2/3 massive shitty corporations (at&t, t-mobile, verizon).

naa, read the thread fully, OP is an indian who set up this premise to shill his poojeet website that doesn't even give a ping or jitter readout, and is capped at 1Gb bandwidth lmao

Switzerland, my isp is doing a good job to the point I'm only on 10/10gbit fiber because the 25/25gbit router hardware is oretty expensive even DIY.

Anonymous No.105862318

Yes, and IIRC that one benchmarked at "only" 15-20gbit per port so its not actually the full 25gbit on all ports. And also the 25gbit sfp28 modules + pcie card still cost like 100-200 per port on each machine.
