Brave seems to be working so I'll use that, might check out Librewolf, ideally I'd like ad blocking and privacy but I understand that's a tall order nowadays
not sure why Alphabet are hellbent on stopping adblockers when it seemed like only a tiny subset of users were ever using them, unless that was total bs

happened to me too this morning. I ditched chrome and moved over to firefox, so far everything works like a charm. Should've done the swap years ago but I'm lazy, them killing off ublock compatibility for good gave me the motivation I needed.

what are the advantages of using waterfox over firefox? all i see is it being "privacy-centric" despite phoning home to multiple sites when you open it. at that point you should just compile firefox without DRM and set up a config.
at least you can easily find the advantages and new features floorp offers without having to dig between each release's changelog

Not trying to start a flame war but why do people stick with Chrome? They *used to be* da best browser evurr but the last several years of bloat and forced decisions like this turned me away long ago. I've moved between Firefox and Brave and am satisfied with Brave. Primarily I like its syncing feature that does require an account like Firefox or Chrome. I understand what Brave is built upon, but I haven't experienced extensions getting turned off for bullshit reasons yet.

I converted this to text for those that want to copy and paste. Also i can confirm it worked for me. 4chan x and ublock are both enabled after doing this.

Was your uBO on Chrome disabled? You can try regaining the access using Chrome flags. Should work on 138, maybe also on 139 with another flag.

Chrome 138 requires an additional flag to use all these. First set:

chrome://flags/#temporary-unexpire-flags-m137 [Enabled]

Then restart Chrome and you can set:

chrome://flags/#extension-manifest-v2-deprecation-warning [Disabled]
chrome://flags/#extension-manifest-v2-deprecation-disabled [Disabled]
chrome://flags/#extension-manifest-v2-deprecation-unsupported [Disabled]
chrome://flags/#allow-legacy-mv2-extensions [Enabled]

And restart Chrome again.

People will ask "why are you even using chrome at this point? or ever?" For one it was just the better browser functionally. But now I use it out of spite, not just for people saying "you shouldn't use it" (fuck off you're not special), but out of spite to Google because I will continue to use features they don't want me to whether they like it or not, go ahead and try and stop me, the only way to do that is to completely remove your own browser. Still works fine on Vivaldi

That said I fear that the Chrome extension store pages are down now which might make installing the extensions difficult on new browser profiles. Are they still up/accessible?

Boomers and tech illiterates of any age will click on any popup just to make it go away without reading, many of those are of the 'bloody bastard saar do the needful and install toolbar with my ads for good karma" type.

Huh. You'd think Microcock would at least be second to remove adblockers.

You must've made your browser mad

Y'all k ow what's funny? Firefox now HAS to keep support for uBO because if they somehow lose it, Brave is going to fucking wreck them. I think it already is.

I wouldn't mind one single non-obtrusive ad to be shown, then go away without me having to click anything, with no annoying sounds and as long as it's not blocking anything important.
There's no moral imperative for me to sit through any ad with audio in it. Nor to look at pop-ups. To look at any ad that exists now really.

I'm okay with billboards, make your ad like what a billboard is, I pass it while driving and then I drive, at no point does it annoy me.

so true. i even have dreams about finding the perfect firefox fork... all i've been thinking about is floorp, pale moon and basilisk.
i have used icecat for years, but it's shit for the most part: despite being a nice private and free version of firefox, it sacrifices a lot of functionality in its excessively strict configuration. some addons do not work correctly and container tabs are screwed up. i have pale moon as a backup browser because some sites won't work on icecat...
i have been also thinking about entirely giving up on gecko and switching to ungoogled chromium but keeping pale moon around...

Good opportunity to move browsers and move a little out of the google ecosystem by also getting a real password manager.
Changed to floorp (firefox but JAPAN :OO) which is pretty okay, I don't feel like I'm missing anything at all
