Is it possible for third party air purifier filters to be hazardous? The authentic ones are double the price

Hazardous probably not unless it's full chink. But entirely likey it doesn't have the same filtering ability. If you're paranoid enough to use a purifier then you should be paranoid enough to get the expensive filters

Aftermarket? Probably not but they'll likely perform worse. Generic? Probably. They should have some sort of HEPA certification.

Ultimately if you need an air purifier you might as well pay the authentic™ tax for peace of mind. 2 for $30 seems pretty reasonable. You're not supposed to change them that often. Not even sure why it's sold as a 2 pack.

Completely useless for air purifiers because the clean air goes into the same room as the dirty air. CADR is all that matters.
