I truly regret skimping on a few eurodolleridoos when selecting RAM - RGB sticks were a tad cheaper so I went there, as otherwise they were equal to non-RGB ones. Considering that most RGB controls can be set up using proprietary shitty software and then forgotten, as they persist (either off or in a single, dim color), even if you remove the shitty software. My memory stick RGB settings do not persist and reset on each boot, thus, the 4 RGB sticks inside my case pukes rainbow faggotry on my face nonstop. I can't, or rather, won't put my case on the table solely because of this. I had skimped on my case as well - it's perfectly functional otherwise, but has that stupid window. Considering painting the window black just to rid myself of this headache.

It's a midi case to be exact. Anyway, I was stupid and naive, hadn't bought PC parts for nearly 12 years and then jumped on the AM4 bandwagon, when RGB was simultaneously gaining traction. RGB being the gimmick that it is, all that remains of that matter is regret. AM4 was a good choice at least.

My current computer which I built 5 years ago has lights fucking everywhere because components without RGB were unironically more expensive, idk how it is now. Ram and CPU cooler were the most annoying because there's no fucking software to turn them off, I managed to turn my gpu's and case's off and it was still a pain in the ass of having to install propietary software for the GPU and having to do some weird ass combination of buttons for the case.

fyi: most rgb ram sticks use the same ENE controller which doesn't have a built in storage to memorize the rgb setting, but corsair vengeance sticks use a different controller that does have that, and you can turn off the rgbs permanently (or set it to a specific color) just fine, they'll retain that setting forever until you re-install icue and save a different color profile to it.
