a list:
Thinkpad T42
-you can opt for 1600x1200 IPS screen IN THE YEAR 2007 (try to find a lot of laptops from that era with IPS, I dare you)
Thinkpad T500
-you can opt for 1920x1200 IPS screen which is 15.6 inch, this was very rare category in 2009
Thinkpad X200
-altough 1280x800 isnt an ideal resolution of screen, otherwise this 12" powerhouse is incredible stuff
-battery life of 6-7 hours when running CPU at full force all the time (if you use large capacity battery which weighs 40% more than the small battery)
NONE OF THE ABOVE are useful today, its too outdated
However there is yet more one worthy of mention
Lenovo T560
-get battery life of 20 hours while running CPU at 50% all the time, instead of 10%
-it might run 40 hours of you manage to keep CPU at less than 5%, this can be done with Windows 7 (not Windows 10) and then you cant do much of anything else but to write text onto a notepad for 40 hours straight
-did I mention it has decent 1920x1080 IPS panel? (if you got 1366x768 instead its nearly worthless)
-it has full width keyboard, almost all the keys you find on a desktop computer will be present in laptop format, numbad too
