How much should one pay for a pc case?

as little as possible that fits your form factor
the best pc cases i've had were the ones that were just a cheap hunk of metal, they were the easiest to work with and i didn't have to worry about scratches or breaking the glass or anything like that

When I build my next pc, I'm tempted to just get a test bench. Current PC is in a big ATX case because I like all the room and don't like cramped spaces. Test bench is the logical end-game.

Good. Dont believe the dustfag, there will be LESS dust, as long as you have some kind of top cover, like suspending it under your desk or putting it inside a shelf. Also, 10 seconds with a battery powered blower once a month and all dust is gone.

T. 10 year+, open case, 0 case fans, great temps, no dust enjoyer.
