So, DebConf25 is approaching. It's the official conference for Debian GNU/Linux and a certain Jeremy C Bicha will be doing a talk there, probably about GNOME or something. He is a sex offender in Florida, appearing on their sex offender registry

According to this news article published in 2012, he, at the age of 12 raped and sexually abused his 2 sisters, both no older than 9. He would go unpunished until 2010, when the two sisters decided to testify against him after finding out he wanted to have kids with his newlywed wife.

I'm not sure if it was continuous over 3 years, but he did get charged with two separate sexual batteries against minors under 12: one in 1996 and the other in 1999.

Since Debian is a Community distro that "is totally not Ubuntu :^) and has totally nothing to do with Canonical :^)", it doesn't inflict reputational damage on Canonical.
In fact, it might be a way to still keep him indirectly useful. Just make him contribute to debian and you get the changes downstream.
