Lossless Scaling in Linux
DeckCHADs rejoice! Framegen works on Linux!
github.com/PancakeTAS/lsfg-vk

Decky plugin for DeckCHADs:
github.com/xXJSONDeruloXx/decky-lossless-scaling-vk

Also, GE-Proton_10-9 has NTSync.

Does it turn the graphics to jello at anything less than 60 fps base frame rate? I was really disappointed when I tried Lossless Scaling on Windows since it only seems useful for getting higher fps from an already high base, which defeats the purpose for most people.

It works great at 2x on my deck and I wouldn't go higher than that. 4x I noticed a bunch of weird shit. 3x was less noticable.

What games and base fps though?

Excuse the compression but I tested it in E33 and wiiu BOTW. Bloodborne on ShadPS4 worked great too. Basically every game works with it from what I tested.

I don't understand why people like artificially inflating their fps when going from sub 60 fps still feels like shit where frame time and input is concerned
Anonymous No.105900657
>>105900630
I only use it if I can't get 60fps. It feels fine if you turn off vsync from other sources other than gamescope. Turning off limit framecap helps with latency too.

Nice, will probably test this out. The only thing I fear is having to change a lot of settings since I'm also very lazy

>Use decky plugin
>Put ~/lsfg %command% in launch options
>Toggle some switches
It's that easy.

Guide for Lossless Scaling Linux on steam deck
1) Purchase Lossless Scaling from the steam store
2)Download, and install Losless Scaling, but do not run.
3)In desktop mode enter "curl -sSf https://pancake.gay/lsfg-vk.sh | sh" into konsole
4)Make sure you have v-sync enabled in game options if available for the game it is that you want to play, and set the game to play in borderless windowed mode
5) Make sure you are using proton experimental for the game
6) add this to launch options
"DXVK_FRAME_RATE=30 ENABLE_LSFG=1 LSFG_MULTIPLIER=2 LSFG_FLOW_SCALE=1.0 LSFG_PERF_MODE %COMMAND%"

I recommend avoiding the decky plugin, and gamemode for now. Use this in desktop mode.

**above is for base 30fps, gets it to 60fps.

should be perfect for 30FPS only games like WOTS

Tranny dev got mad that someone made a plugin "without consent". I don't care and will keep using it as long as it works.

I tried 2x scaling d2r from 60fps and it already felt sluggish. Can't imagine scaling from sub 60.

Turn on perf mode and lower the flow scale. Disable vsync.

I can't believe people use this with a base framerate of 30, for me it's fucking unplayable, the latency is INSANE
Even using 60 as base feels very weird, but tolerable.

Not different standards, lossless scaling just sucks ass. It's not usable if you're anywhere near being gpu bound.

Framegen overall or just framegen on Lossless Scaling? I was under the impression FSR3 frame gen already worked on Linux.

Judging by the wavy pattern it looks like some sort of fast signed distance field vectorizer.
