Just repaste your cpu and gpu with PTM7950.

It's cheaper and actually works.

Kinda but you could also just sit your laptop on four little blocks of wood and it would be about the same. It's more about keeping hot air from building up under the laptop than anything.

unless you remove back cover - you will not notice much. but generally keeping it on some stand (even very short one) does help with airflow - you don't want it to sit flat on the table.

the best solution I've found to stop my gaming laptop from overheating is to not use it for gaming. I use it as my home server now kek
I just do gaming on my desktop and use my Thinkpads as actual laptops nowadays

Your battery will be literally cooked by the time those do anything. It's like pointing a fan at a toaster oven.

You are either going to have pay exorbitant amounts for an actual long lasting solution or build your own. I would suggest the latter, and someone has already done it and shared everything you need to know online.

using a laptop riser will have the same effect and prolly won't involve RGB and it definitely won't involve noise so it's a win win.

They cool the chassis, the chassis isn’t actually as big of a factor in total system cooling as people think. The heatsink isn’t directly connected to the shell/chassis of the laptop, it’s just radiant heat that makes it feel hot, and cooling that just makes the shell cooler, doesn’t actually make the system cooler.

Unless you have a heavily vented bottom chassis, in which case yes, throwing a fuck load of airflow at the board will help. But if your laptop just has some sliver vents on the bottom it won’t do anything.
If you have an ARM MacBook Air then these also help because they do use the chassis as a heatsink.

If it looks like this and it’s all vents

Yes, a cooling pad will help a bit
Don’t expect the world but it will drop temperatures to simply shove large amounts of air into the chassis

Easiest way to cool a laptop is to cut holes in the bottom of it, starting by removing the grate over the intake fan(s). Sorta like pic related but I wouldn't even worry about protecting it from dust. Just don't stick your fingers in the fans like I've done a few times. I've been doing this to all my latops for almost 20 years and it normally lowers the temps by 10 degrees or so.

That is pretty clever, though destructive as fuck. This seems the best option if you don't care about reselling the laptop.

>do laptop coolers really work for gaming ?
Depends... if you got a lot of vents below then yeah. Otherwise, having the computer elevated with a static stand will do fine. Also, I bought pic related, it barely moves any air at full, buy literally anything else. My dying grandfather with lung cancer can move more air then that laptop "cooler".

Gaming laptops are terrible and have horrible thermals. It will literally break down for you like three years down the road and it will be uncomfortable to use, hot keyboard and all.

Just get a Steam Deck, don't be a loser.
