It's fine for me. The human eye can't even see above 60hz.

The only time I have noticed a difference has been playing vidya at 240 fps or 120 fps at half refresh rate; it has only been one game so far, aswell. I don't play much, so I tend to reduce from 240HZ to 120HZ, and when I dual screen with my other monitor which is 1080p@60HZ max, then I sometimes reduce it to match.
I don't think video or desktop applications really need more. Looks like 1080p@60HZ keeps winning ;3

4k 240hz for me normally and then I press a button and it turns into 1080p 480hz for fps games
It's amazing and I use it almost every day

video, yeah sure you only need 48-60 hz for that (depending on frame rate of the video)
but regular desktop use is terrible on 60 hz, mouse cursor is laggy and scrolling is stuttery as hell

I will never go above 60Hz simply because getting used to higher refresh rates might make my favourite PSX and N64 games unplayable. I'm also not sure I need more than 1080p for a 23" monitor.

I've got crazy good vision and can see individual pixels on my 1080p 24" screen.
Also I don't have much space on my desk, I have to hang them on an arm to have enough space on my desk below the monitors.

I can't see the individual pixels on my 32" 1080p screen with glasses on, sitting about 40" from the monitor.

I'm sitting at an arms length away from my monitors (~23" / 60cm). I can see the pixels on my phone (S25 Ultra) when I hold it at the closest distance I can still focus at.

1080p 165hz was a hundred bucks for me. It has some slight black smearing, so I'll upgrade in 2050 when microLED stops being vaporware.

And 20/20 is the vision average for 37-45 year olds and we all lose close-in focusing as we age, and you're going to accelerate that by not keeping your screens farther from your face. 23 inches is not enough distance to protect your eye health, try 35-40
