What does /g/ think about augmented reality? I would be grateful for any advice and model recommendations. It doesn't have to be as small as a usual pair of glasses, but still lightweight enough to be usable for long periods of time. Don't need any onboard processing power, would connect it to PC instead, wire is fine. And without bullshit like meta's headsets that force you to install software, create accounts, get blacked just to use the fucking glasses you paid for.

I know, but I still want try it. Having monitors wherever you go, hand tracking + game engine and god knows what else.
>>105911548 (OP)I'm considering getting the Meta glasses if you can turn off the AI shit. I like the idea of POV filming with sunglasses but them being connected to Jewbook servers 24/7 is gay.
>>105912279I've had quest 2 and 3. You can connect them to pc with usb-c or 5ghz wifi and use them like any other headset, but they require meta software and aren't properly hackable, also they are heavy. That's why I would like something more compact even if it has lower refresh rate and fov, and the real world view has to be direct and not from external cameras.

best 8k clarity no the market right now, OLED and lighter than a phone.
get your wallet out, cost $1800
>>105912812AR not VR. I want an overlay on the glass, not on the screens, and this thing doesn't seem to do either. I'm looking for something like pic related, it's called "project north star" but it seems abandoned and it's more on the DIY side.
