Why not glass mouse pad?
Anonymous No.105912240 [Report]
mousepads are just for decoration in 2025 and glass mousepads look retarded

Why not a ceramic mouse pad instead?

It takes several months before you really notice the wearing. You can replace them with mouse dots for a few bucks off aliexpress.

reflective surfaces aren't good for optical mice and part of the job of the mousemat is to provide wrist support, which glass wont be comfy for

my mousepad is made out of some old jeans i sewed to a firm backing and i used to have a big piece of rolled up fur at the bottom of it (it eventually got mangy and so i just tore it off and tossed it)

It's essentially the same material

This is an idiotic waste of time and money, Teflon sheets are like 20$ and Teflon is really easy to cut
Or just start using Teflon on Teflon and reduce wear and friction to essentially nothing which is what I've been doing

I think I rather use a cloth mousepad and never replace my feet instead

luxury bonus. borderline useless if you don't play fps games at a high level but thats the case with any peripheral talk these days. you have to use aftermarket dot skates with these also it sucks during winter because the glass gets cold. but my god is it consistently silky smooth every time you move your mouse.
Anonymous No.105913067 [Report]
I have one and I do like it, it’s good for some things I play and I just generally like the feel of it even with normal mouse usage.
But yeah, they eat through skates. You’ll shred a set of ptfe skates in a month.

i use a shitty dell OEM mouse and even having used friends gaymer mice, I don't notice a difference in "glide coefficient"

that said i will say i have noticed that the dpi of my mouse is literally insufficient for sniping but i probably miss more shots from jitter due to a weird slick spot on my mousepad where i spilled some epoxy once

Same reason I don't buy anything made of glass, it's heavy and fragile for 99% aesthetics reasons. Fuck glass desks, fuck glass case panels, fuck glass phones, stop using fucking slabs of tempered glass for shit.

I pulled out my old Icemat and used that recently for a couple weeks when I was bored. I'm getting to the age where any positive impact by a peripheral for the most part doesn't matter, my body is the bottleneck now, so all periphery is just preference I feel. It was good to have something easy to wipe the stray bits of dog fur in one single motion though, as I have a husky.

The very simple reason that you need a gaymer sleeve to not have your hand stick to them. I'm not fucking putting on my "gamer gear" every time I sit down at my PC and want to open a game for a bit.
Maybe they make sense for the aim hobbysits who grind in kovaaks and want to maximise their k/d. If that's your hobby, then great, but if not, they really are not convenient at all.

And I say this as someone who uses a 20g mouse because it's comfy.

Becuase cloth pads feel better, they have just the right amount of friction.
Anonymous No.105914393 [Report] >>105914433

why do you need a sleeve?
Anonymous No.105914433 [Report] >>105914452
>>105914393
At least that's what I hear from everyone. You need it because skin easily sticks to glass, adding a ton of friction to your arm which feels terrible. I've never used a glass mousepad but I've touched glass tables before so I can believe it.
Apparently there are "friction" glass pads with textured surfaces which probably stick a little bit less, but not only does that kind of work against the main purpose of glass pads, but from what I've seen people say it still doesn't reduce the skin friction enough to actually be usable.

You've given private companies access to your personal data and they abuse it to shove highly personalized ads down your throat. Do you really want to give these same companies access to your fucking brain? Fucking moron.

I have a pulsar superglide XL and I do not use a sleeve, I use the bit of stick that my palm has to the glass to my advantage.
It’s also not a perfectly flat surface, it doesn’t stick as much as you’d think.
Anonymous No.105914480 [Report]
>>105914452
Interesting. I tend to like large arm movements so I'm afraid even a little bit of sticking is going to be annoying.
For now I'm quite content with my artisan raiden, but if I end up looking for another pad some time down the line I'll reconsider glass again maybe.

How does it feel during the summer by the way? From everything I've heard, sweating makes it feel even worse.
Anonymous No.105914656 [Report]
Glass mousepads can be great. When I got the skypad 4.0 I knew right away this was the pad for me after using various artisan cloth pads for the past 10 years. Obsidian pro dots made the experience even better. I'm able to play kovaaks and cs2 just fine with it too.
