That has nothing to do with Cloudflare, and everything with retarded developers who can't do "isNumberEven(x)" without pulling yet another 5 MB js dependency

Cloudflare (and all other similar companies btw) are pretty much the only thing keeping the Internet somewhat usable at the moment. My company has resorted to just dropping all non-US traffic by default for our customers, because it's 99% attacks or data-harvesting attempts (also attacks btw) that run their servers glowing hot.

China, Russia and the United States bear the most responsibility, though nearly every nation is culpable. We've proven ourselves utterly incompetent. By allowing criminals, schizos, and jump servers to operate freely, we've inadvertently created a slow internet, enriching Cloudflare and big techs.
The first world should immediately shut down domestic jump servers or at least fine them. We need a new protocol, this can only be solved at the protocol level. IP just delivers traffic whether you asked for it or not, whether you can handle it or not. We need to be able to signal to upstream routers that the destination is busy, and either put a monetary premium on additional connections to the server (to be paid to the server operator) or stop the connections before they get closer.
