Why are they being hired if they don't know how to use a computer?

Anyways, I think the answer to "Why are zoomers so tech illiterate?" is simple: they don't use a computer at home, and they didn't try to learn to use the computers at school.

shit UX is shit UX. Most corp shitware I've dealt with is shit UX that ends up getting worked around one way or another.
The Boeing door disaster was specifically because the shopfloor execution shitware the wagies are forced to use sucked so much, they preferred texting each other to tell them what they're doing and signing off on each other's work.

I don't care what gen you are, anyone who apologizes for shit software and UX and blames the user who's confused is retarded and should be roped (and replaced by a jeet)

Because tech companies have deliberately shifted toward making machines that anyone can use, regardless of knowing anything about it. It's no mystery, really. Tech companies benefit from people being illiterate.
The way to fix this is to show people how cool open source software is and how it isn't actually that hard to learn.

that's not the problem. the problem is the "apps" make doing anything harder than it is to just do it.
they exist to check boxes for compliance and slow you down. they're basically computer automated ways of filling out paperwork.
software should exist to make lives easier (while also enforcing and recording auditing stuff) and as long as that isn't the focus, you'll read shit ass takes like OP's faggy tweet and ignore the real problem.

I hate this satanic world.

Control panel hasn't changed since windows 98 and manages hardware, drivers and other system level things. Settings is newer and governs more surface level matters like language packs, display settings, wallpapers, etc.
Wait till you get into regedit. You thought the Linux terminal was obtuse, the windows registry might as well require you to be an actual wizard to use it.

I'm a millenial and our generation is cucked by public education. I was forced to read propaganda like Night and watch Schindlers list in school along with entire sections about blacks, mexicans, we even read a book called Nectar in a Sieve for india. This backfired and made me absolutely disgusted by india though because they lived in a literal shithut in the book and british colonization was the only thing that lifted their children out of poverty.

We stopped passing down knowledge the moment we let the State "educate" our children instead of wise, carefully chosen tutors and instructors. Parents don't want to teach their kids shit anymore, and the state funded schools are concerned with churning out serfs who can pay their taxes, get a job, comply with regulations, contribute to the GDP, vote, and bring more serfs into existence (preferably through fornication so they grow up fatherless).

Home schooling. Of course, this greatly depends on the parents (or third party teachers) and their ability to teach, but in the age of the internet where you can download any book ever written for free and store thousands of said books on a small flash or even a cell phone drive it's literally never been easier in all of human history to become an autodidact. Learning is no longer gatekept by finances as it was in ages past. Nor is it gatekept by institutions as it was before the internet. Such institutions only continue because people have been conditioned to prefer being sheep.

Ancient esoteric knowledge left over from the 90s when Microsoft actually provided in depth docs for windows internals and api. Same shit with Apple, any knowledge of internals comes from a wildly outdated book from the turn of the century. There is no other source, and all new info comes from retarded marketing talks and the like.

RIP in depth useful documentation. No one bothers anymore, because no one is building a stable coherent system anymore. Why bother with docs when it's just another ephemeral pile of shit on top of an ever changing mountain of shit?

I used to have a negative view on homeschooling but now that I am an adult and have kids (and have been through public school from pre to uni) I can see how times have changed. public schools are at best daycares where you dump your kid and hope they had a good day and achieved something. At worst you are leaving them to be abused by strangers who will neglect them or worse. Either way no one is actively developing your kid to be the best they can be and the only person left in the whole world these days is you, the parent.

because of smartphones and dumbed down interfaces/technology in general. At the dawn of the www in the late 90's/ early 00s young adults were forced to use and manually setup client programs for protocols of various types, ranging from IMs, email, file sharing etc. Back then, hosting your own Homepage was todays equivalent of creating a social media profile. Today everything is being spoon fed to you through your phone. There exists a pre-made solution to virtually every problem, idea etc, you are just one swpie away. And now you also have media generator and agents running rampant. Everything about tech (and the web) just feels so corporate and fake, even when it comes to supposed indie Foss projects. The web has lost its charm the moment it gained mass adoption.

The worst ones are the people that know it's fucked but put their children in it anyway. Like my (ex) friend:
>Faggot constantly watching political rage bait streamers and MSM rage bait on his Xbox console
>sits on his ass all day smoking pot and playing yu-gi-oh when he's not doing the above or at his do-nothing minimum wage job
>On food stamps and all kinds of gibs
>"The schools are fucked up anon and they're teaching my children propaganda."
>ask him why he sends them to public education if he's so worried about it
>he gets all pissed off and says "They'll lock me up! You don't understand because you don't have children!"
>Remind him I've raised multiple siblings and friend's children. Including his own so some extent
>Tell him to home school
>"I don't have time and you have to be rich!"
>Tell him my cousin with a full time job with more hours than the one he works that pays less money has been home schooling for 8+ years now
>offer to call her to get the information to help him get started
>claims they'll come and throw him in prison anyway or "baby mama will use it against me"
>ask him why he doesn't shoot them when they come
>he calls me crazy

The faggot doesn't want an actual solution to his problem. He doesn't want to teach his own children anything. He'll always claim everything is impossible for him because he's too poor or doesn't have the time. Despite spending hundreds of dollars a month on his various addictions (weed, gaming, TV/entertainment and whatever else he's doing that I don't know about). He constantly bitches about the Government, state, police and "the system". But he'll never do anything real to keep it out of his own life. He's not going to grow his own food or teach his own children or defend his own family using firearms. Despite constantly talking about how muh firearms is keeping the state already run amok in check.

All he will do is vote harder then complain about the results.

These retards think 2 paragraphs is a "wall of text" and a "rant" because they don't have proper keyboards and pointing devices. They're addicted to endless scrolling but they don't seem to understand they can just scroll by shit that doesn't interest them. So they shit up every place they go crying about what other people have posted and they demand censorship to keep it off "their" feeds.

EVERYONE SHUT UP RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!

I have this wisdom to dispense to disgruntled and deserving boomers, useful idiot gen xers and millenials, and soft hearted zoomers gas lit into thinking these threads are organic.

THAT WISDOM IS THE DEFINITIVE ANSWER TO OPS RIGGED QUESTION
thats right there IS an answer that explains everything that is not caustic to zoomies

In the hayday of the millenial and genX computer enthusiast, the rise of the internet, and everything that came with it, was an opportunity to hide from, and avoid censure by authorities. No not the fucking glowies and jews retard, though sure. Parents, School teachers, Baby sitters, Jocks. The widespread adoption of the internet created a vaccuum as people rushed to it as though it where the americas themselves to both carve out a life or social space free from the influence of others.

THERE WAS ALMOST NO FINANCIAL INCENTIVE TO MAKE THIS PROCESS THAT EASY

Windows and early unix made computers more user friendly, but this was for business work environment reasons. everything else was done by HOBBIESTS. everything from piracy to shitposting, represented freedom, but to get to that freedom you needed a certain skill set.

what is TL:DR is THE SKILL SET THAT LET YOU BE FREE ON LINE ISN'T NECISSARY ANYMORE

for most retarded zoomies, they load up discord, and maybe element/riot if theyre edgelords, and thats IT. they don't have to learn to hide files on their computer, you can get detachable storage in the terabytes. you don't need to know how an operating system works or how to enable dial up, you don't need to know any skills to pry open the guts because fundamentally none of this stuff works anymore unless you are a l33t hacker. the age of the script kiddie is mostly fucking over. when I was in middle school you could bypass all the safegaurds with a single proxy, and copy paste system files directly without protection including liscenced software!!!!
that software RAN AS IS. THATS ALL OVER.

Want real answer?
Millennials had computers when the OS'es were still garbage cobbled together. Which meant things broke, a lot.
Fixing these issues gave them the skills to troubleshoot things on their own, in the process gaining valuable computer (technology in general actually)

Boomers were too old to learn this stuff

zoomers are too young to have experienced this era. Everything is well optimized so things almost never break.
Also AI giving them literal brainrot

>I honestly don't understand those guides that tell you to create a random registry entry to fix a problem. How did they discover that particular entry solves it and why wasn't it there to begin with?
Broadly speaking, you run a program with instrumentation enabled, looking for registry keys it attempted to use but that didn't exist. These may be hidden settings, features not "officially" supported, or features developers added, but that for whatever reason, didn't make the final cut. They can also be things support can turn on to make your IT department's life easier if your org pays for a support contract (etc, etc...). Often the name of the registry key gives some hint (ForceListView, etc).

Thatโ€™s just clickbait garbage, red meat for millennials and boomers

I TA'd for graduate level (PhD, Masters, etc.) level courses in a computational field. From experience, the proto-iPad kiddies who don't know what a folder is have already completed undergrad and are in the workforce or obtaining advanced degrees. God help you if you try to correct them (even if it's your fucking job as the instructor) since they grew up being able to browbeat their teachers into passing them or else.

Because the world changed and their parents never adapted to such changes, so they think zoomers can figure it out on their own like millenials and don't make an effort to teach or learn anything, without realizing zoomers don't have a need to learn it either.
On the early days, computers had limited functionality and scope, so boomers and gen X didn't had much needs to learn the tech outside of specific use cases. Millenials grew up on peak internet and tech evolution era, computers were more oriented to everyday personal use, so there was a strong incentive to learn how to use the tech. Zoomers grew with the rise of the iPhone and apps, and since it just works, they have not much need to learn how things functions.
but IMO the real reason is that tech was always a niche field. Even among millenials, the group of people that knows how to troubleshoot is small. Sure, millenials had strong incentives, but so did their parents, and look at them. No one wants to learn how to use a PC, which is why shit like Mac is popular, you just use it, you don't have to learn how it works behind the curtain. Hell, even PC building is following this path. Mouse pointer on a BIOS? Colored front-panel cables? Extra space for hide the cables? It follows the same principle.

you couldn't just do everything with an instantly-loading "free" web service or now an ai chatbot either. if you say, wanted to edit a picture with more than mspaint, you mostly likely wanted photoshop, but you couldn't afford that, so you learned how to get it for free, so you learned about piracy/torrents/gnutella
you install a handful of games and now your 10GB hdd is full, so you learn how to find and clean up space, again using third party tools because the cleanup tool in windows doesn't handle much, not even installed applications
when something goes wrong or things slow down you have to figure it out because your computer cost $2,000, not $200
etc, etc

Zoomers are at the same level of boomers though, I had a 26 year old who didn't even know how to change a wallpaper.

I feel like the blame for this should go to Adobe, not zoomers.
