>>105938379How often do you replace your blades?
I broke my $10 merkur futur clone after dropping it, the blade wouldn't sit flush anymore and I accidentally broke the detente that keeps you from unscrewing it completely when I tried to fix it, so I just bought another one, 10/10 shaving experience tho, would buy again.
I keep it on the most aggressive setting with astra blades and throw them out after 3-4 uses when they're not slicing through 2 day old stubble like butter.
I don't even use shaving cream, it would get in the way when exfoliating my face with the razor, it goes through leg hair like a dream desu
Feathers are legitimately the worst blade you can buy, they're stupidly sharp because they're designed for their very mild non-adjustable razor lineup so you won't cut yourself, these shits will slice your shit open with a real adjustable and take at least 2 uses before they get dulled enough to be used comfortably, that's a shit blade.
I didn't have a dad growing up so I thought shaving blades were single use. Threw away about 40$ of blades in a week before I realized I was retarded
>>105940002Yes, it was super cheap kit from Gillete
>>105939236They're 100 for $3-15 now, paid $40 for picrel.
underrated as low key weapons you can use and getvaway with it
>>105940579i wish i could go back to being 14...
>>105938369 (OP)i have a chinkshit version of the philips rotary shavers.
works great.
I had a cheap Braun that was terrible first of all, followed by a Remington travel shaver which was fine but just didn't last long.
now i grow somewhat decent facial hair none of the previous shavers would have cut it as the pop-up trimmer is essential for lining up mustache and thinning out beard.
>>105939103>Feathers are legitimately the worst blade you can buy, they're stupidly sharp because they're designed for their very mild non-adjustablewhich is exactly where they shine. stupid to call a blade bad just because it doesn't fit your use case. my first time trying a fresh feather felt like a fucking dream.
is this a real thread? this site is so fucking dead
Now that i spent 2000$ on razor blades, 3000$ on razors, 1000$ on soap, 500$ on brushes, i can finally save money for the next 5 years for soap, forever for razors, forever for razor blades, and forever for shaving brushes.
I own just about every soap and razor blade out there.
Ok anon, you convinced me
I've been using
>>105939987 (that reply was also me btw) for years but a minute ago I just ordered Futur Clone Ming Shi 2000S from China, still very very cheap but I hope it is better
>>105944468Chink clones are alright honestly.
>>105938369 (OP)Microscope on new blades,
Or else Iām calling out they all come from the same chinese factory.
>>105938369 (OP)i only use the jew gillete max 3 because when i was like 13 i saw a fucking horror movie of a guy killing himself with these blades and stuck with me ever since. Is shaving the same on these or do i have to get good at it?
>>105939103I've got a merkur futur clone for like 5+ years too, but I also think I dropped it a few too many times as the blades somehow don't want to sit perfectly in there anymore. Gotta get a new one I guess.
>>105944492https://www.badgerandblade.com/forum/threads/blade-sharpness-research-project.652790/page-56
There is a guy on one of the forums who does microscope testing if you are interested.
There are multiple factories across the world.
>>105944568Roughly the difference is you need less pressure to shave. Other difference is that you can shave a full beard/sideburns with these relatively easily compared to multi blade setup.
>>105944474I hope so, this is the first real de razor for me not counting cheap plastic one and multiple blades from gillete that I stopped using more than 10 years ago
I only use Feather blades (MADE IN JAPAN)
>>105938369 (OP)I use bic chrome platinums on a shavette.
just works.
>>105944568you have to git gud but you also need to find the right combination of blade, razor & prep that works for you. in general, you're not gonna fuck your face up unless you're retarded; they're called safety razors for a reason.
BIC blades are the best, cheap and extremely sharp.
>>105938369 (OP)why the fuck is this thread on /g/ and not /fa/?
>>105938369 (OP)Any cheap disposable razor with any cheap shaving foam. Store brand is fine. Why the fuck would I need more?

>>105938369 (OP)I use a generic safety razor (i remove the safety so it doesn't clog), Astra superior platinum, and Arko shaving soap.
>>105938379>I've switched to electric.I did that, bought a Xiaomi Mijia S300 some 3 years ago. That thing is now a brick so I am back to my old Parker.
Hopefully yours will last longer, what did you buy?
luv' me Henson, simple as
>>105946298The part on the bottom. I only shave every couple of months so it becomes clogged with the big hairs. To prevent this i remove it. It makes it easier to cut yourself but it also works alot better.
This is such a weird fetish
>>105938369 (OP)Feather blades are all you need.
I use razors from dollar shave club
>>105946376Interesting. Never occurred to me to do that. I've always just relied on a straight razor if I want to just slice off a bunch of hair in one go. Nothing beats a raw blade for not getting clogged up.
I do also have some hipster safety razor with multiple guards so you can change how wide open it is, but none of them work as well as my basic bitch merkur or whatever.
>>105942548If only we had more valuable contributions such as yours ā we could save the site!
Double edge niggers just need to admit that cartridge razors are superior.
>Just do 3 passes bro
>Just git gud bro
>Just use this $80 shaving soap bro
Thanks for the tips, but I'm too busy having sex.
>>105946376A non-slav would just use a trimmer first.
Who is keeping this under wraps? I mean, the amount of money you save is insane.
I'd thought I just cut my face at first but it feels better than regular razors and I'm using the cheapest shit ever.
Bought pic related for $3.5 on Aliexpress almost 10 years ago along with a pack of 100 """""wilkinson""""" blades for $5 from ebay and it works great.
Haven't tried soap yet.
>>105948149That is a common one and quite good. A bit aggressive but too its benefit. You can just get a sample pack of razor blades to find out what works best for it. Beard/hair type and prep(washing face first or shower) makes the largest difference.
The soap is more for comfort of the shave but you have a massive variety and the parker brushes are OK. Wilkinson sword sells the rebrand of that razor and good razor blades for the price of 6$
The shave soaps last between 6-8 months which adds in the cost savings compared to shitty canned foam that shrinks every year.
>>105948062Not sure who started it, but at some point some razor company figured out that making plastic razors is cheaper. So to get people to use them they ran marketing campaigns claiming that plastic razors with multiple blades are better under the pretense that this way you only need to do 1 pass. Which caused the competition to adopt the same methods and then they kept trying to one up each other to see who could get more blades on a single razor.
Funny enough multiple blades is arguably much worse because if the first blade is dull it will pull the hair while the second blade cuts it, leaving you with an ingrown hair.
>>105948062I have to wonder if all DE blades you can find are ancient new old stock, some from companies that aren't even in business anymore.
Even if you throw out blades after 4 uses, a 100 pack will still last you years, $14 per customer every few years is an incredibly low volume industry.
>>105947912Cartridge razors are dull as fuck, literally just git gud. I do barely 1 pass in the shower b/c the blade actually cuts.
>>105949033picrel is $6.50 for top 5 sharpest and longest lasting. Flydear is like $3/100
>>105949033Most countries outside the hebrewsphere still use them. I don't doubt there's a lot of old stock floating around, but the vast majority of what you can buy online is recent production.
>>105947912Sex is an orthogonal concern to you being a dumb goy and wasting your hard earned cash out of sheer stubbornness and fear of literally doing the same thing (shaving) with a different implement.
>>105948062whoever is behind the infantalisation of the human race
>>105939236This gave me a brilliant business idea $_$
>>105951308If you're scared of spending $20 to buy a superior product, you should single edge your wrists.
>>105951330Just say jews.
>>105939236Damn, you're as retarded as your (black?) dad probably was.
>>105940218>he doesn't put his Feather in a Yaqi Knight's Helmetidk what that is, but it sounds pretty gay.
>>105951344>superiorNo, not really. I've used the old three blade cartridge razors plenty in the past. They're trash. For what you spend on them in a year you could buy enough regular razors to last you for the rest of your natural life and stop falling for jewish tricks.
>>105951376I'm not a poorfag and it's much harder to give yourself irritation with cartridge razors. They're also faster and carry-on friendly on flights. DEs are for coping poorfags and shaving fetishists.
>>105951419>irritationSorry you have soft baby skin, anon.
>>105951419t. own multiple double edge and single edge razors and still use Gillette (the best a man can get).

>>105949410>2025>thinking you're getting genuine brand name products on scamazonyou're right that the real ones are cheap everywhere, but the chances those are actual shark blades is slim to none
>>105951419literally the opposite. never get irritation with a DE. just dont use shit blades or never change them. in the year 2025, while being terminally online and privy to the information, and still using cartridge, just lmao @ ur life.
>>105951638>still using cartridgeI used a DE for years and sounded exactly like you, until I realized how wrong I was. As I said, only weirdo shaving fetishists, fedora tippers and/or broke niggers think DEs are better.
>>105951419I get ingrowns with cartridge razors. Hacked up hair microscope meme is real.
>>105953956Buy a sampler pack. Most razor blades will work with your razor. Shitloads of brands and just as many manufactures.
>>105951739If that's the case why wouldn't you buy the cheapest blades you can?
>>105954079thanks, my razor is on the way
Lads I just got the beaver brush thing and started lathering myself.
Feels amazing with my Merkur 34C and Feather blades.
God bless.
>>105954501merkur and feather is a slick combo, glad you're feeling it
>beaver brushyou mean badger, right? i got a brick of soft italian soap and i think i need to get a boar brush for it, my badger isn't really putting much air into it
I use one of those meme Henson razors with feather blades and it's far superior to the previous Merkur razor I had
Highly recommend
my face is simply not made for shaving with a razor
still i have a razor and a few hundred blades which i use for the lower part of my body
