Do you hoard your pc component boxes?
yes. its useful when i need to see the serial number of the part to buy an identical one or to troubleshoot without having to rip the part out of my system.
>>105943206 (OP)i only keep the motherboard and power supply boxes
>>105943206 (OP)Not anymore. It gives incel vibes.
>>105943206 (OP)I used to hoard all my boxes but recently purged them all as there really isn't any point in keeping them.
I keep the box for the case in my basement. Then I put all the components for the boxes inside of it.
Theoretically it would be good for if I ever need to return/warranty/resell it, but really they just collect dust.
>>105943206 (OP)just the gpu box in case I decide to sell my old gpu after upgrading
>>105943206 (OP)For CPUs and GPUs, yeah. For ram, sometimes. Everything else isn't worth reselling or giving away unless I'm reusing for a completed system, to sell or give away.
>>105943206 (OP)i use the motherboard box to store all the manuals and odds and ends from the case, psu etc incase i ever need them and the GPU box incase i ever upgrade.
>>105943206 (OP)Most of them, yeah. For when I want to sell the components on ebay
>>105943206 (OP)I only keep those until after the window to return the product is over. Then I toss it.
>>105943206 (OP)It's not hoarding if I have the closet space. I keep the packaging for most electronics I own.
>>105943206 (OP)I put old electronics and PC components in them sometimes, otherwise I throw them away.
>>105943206 (OP)Yes, so I may sell it later with its box and all manuals. People appreciate it.
only if i intend to resell them latter, I move apartments so often so i tend to eliminate as much clutter I can
>>105943206 (OP)Only for things that will still sell well, like CPU, GPU, mainboard, RAM
There are people who don't? Disposables like peripherals, sure, toss them. Mobo, CPU, GPU, etc? There's no reason not to keep the packaging for future reseale.

I used to, but I realized I have a borderline hoarding problem. To 'fix' that you end up making what feels like some tough decisions, and among them it means that If there's something you never use, takes up 3D space, and does not have meaningful sentimental value (IE more than just "this marks the time I went to microcenter"), it has to go.
>>105943206 (OP)I keep them until the warranty expires then they go in the trash.
Except my monitor boxes. Those I keep for when I have to move. I have power, display, and usb cables bagged and stored in them separately until then.
>>105943206 (OP)it's important for warranty purposes
manuals too if anything goes south
the box is also important for resale value
if I throw any boxes, then everything from SKU to part and serial # is written down
>>105943206 (OP)some, not all
GPUs, Mobos, well some mobos & PSU boxes so I don't mix up cables.
Case boxes trash
ram, aios, coolers, ssds, all that goes in trash
>>105943206 (OP)sometimes yeah i have all my mobo boxes from the last few decades for sure
>>105943206 (OP)I just keep my gpu boxes in case I need to resell them, but now I have 15+ gpu boxes.
