It seems like it was done by people who actually read the react documentation. You can get pretty fast performance with kextS too

I saw a bunch of tutorials from this guy when I was getting into web dev and after a couple of weeks it became pretty obivous that he was a terrible programmer.

Sounds like they spend their resources on optimizing what they have instead of jumping on the latest trendy framework so the developers can pad their resumes.

Why do webdevs like frameworks so much? I'm not a webdev but when I do build a little spa or something the joy of it, for me, comes from building my own little widgets using JS. Why cut out the most fun part of web development?

same reason people like GUI toolkits or Unreal Engine for gayme dev, etc. once you start actually doing things, real grating problems start creeping up and usually these frameworks "just" work. Combine that with stuff like react being defacto and most reusable widgets being react based and you start seeing the broader point.
I sometimes wonder if this board is full of nocoders or something and I say this as someone who mostly does small internal user sites and hobbyist shit with vanillajs and some whatever half baked web server.

99% of programmers are completely useless at writing code and just copy everything from stackoverflow
thats why frameworks used to be popular
thats why ai tools are so popular now
writing software as a profession is a complete joke.

Non webdev here, how do you actually build fast non bloated sites like a lot of the internet used to be? There's nothing forcing them to make them like they do now right? Even banking or complex sites could technically be simple stuff right?
