I don't like gnome and the people in charge over there. But at this point, outside a few exceptions, gnome and its apps just work better.
I don't use gnome, but I need to use some apps under the gnome umbrella. They tend to work better than its KDE counterpart.

Gtk is themeable, its at that isn't. Check the kde theme chooser and all the themes you'll see are breeze recolors
