>1. decide what type of work you want to do (languages, tools, safety critical, web, backend, frontend, financial, games, embedded)
>2. search for those qualities on various job listing sights, note down the companies who list things that are interesting and in a location you accept
3. Find commonalities between the companies in your list and start searching for companies that do similar work
4. Go to those companies websites and career page directly and apply for the relevant jobs there

If you're about to graduate and you don't already have a job lined up you're pretty much cooked. You should have had a sophomore year internship which you used to get a nice junior year internship which extended you a full time offer.

Pretty much this. I graduated at the end of 2024 and I still don't have a job.

There isn't much reason left to hire teams of junior devs when they can instead hire a handful of senior devs and have them use Claude Code.
But see >>>/g/utwg for some advice or at least some people in the same position. Fingers crossed for you anon.

I have 6 months left on my A&P and most of that is a paid position gaining FAA time credit. Feels good to be making 70k with zero debt. When will assembly line code monkeys learn??

ask your immediate family if you have any connected extended relatives. same with close friends if they aren't in the same boat as you. prioritize in person human connection over online job boards. if you come across well socially you could try local networking events but theyre going to be flooded with desperate people who arent useful to network with.
i think that for new grads with 0 experience "networking" is a euphemism for nepotism, so i dont rate it very highly as a deliberate job hunting tactic.
