it feels like home.

windows lets you do nearly system wide themes nowadays actually, its not supported but you absolutely can with aftermarket software. fuck jeetos, winjeet, and saarnux. I will baby duck until the mother of all EMPs

i dont want a system wide theme, it robs the soul and character of the programs

I dont mind programs having their own theme, but the age of actually good designed themes like winamp is over. i dont care if what im replacing is flatshit

I am deeply ashamed to admit that I didn't even have to google that.

Same except I put together my own desktop environment from components of other desktop environments (mostly lxqt apps, compiz, cairo-dock, xfce4-panel)

Luke Smith style "minimalism" is a great way to learn Linux but it's terrible for productivity. Whatever improvements the tiling and performance may bring is negated by needing to constantly maintain your own collection of scripts.

>no system wide theme
Yet another attempt at contrarianism.

The alternatives suck.
>using proprietary software
You forgot to mention I have sovl seek, Earth Pro, WPS and Mailspring installed too. Do you have any good alternatives? Preferably Qt based.

Didn't even know that's available for linux, everyone just uses Nicotine+ even on Windows it's Qt-based and free software. KDE has a bunch of Qt-based software like Kmail for email and I guess they have Calligra for office but LibreOffice is what most people use and it has better compatibility with Office365.

huh? shell decorations has always been a thing. I loved LiteStep shell. If anything, Win 11 is so fucking jarring steering you to the new interfaces for utilties and such while the old ones still exist under the hood and arguably work better and faster.

Nicotine is GTK based
KDE apps do autistic shit with their framework like using symbolic icons inconsistently and calling in 100 dependencies.
Libreoffice feels cluttered and clunky. But I might give it another shot.
Thanks for not telling me to install thunderbird tho
