Why does /g/ love the large language model technology so much? Once this properly takes off it's basically over for free software. You cannot host this technology yourself, it's beyond the means of literally any single person. It's the epitome of closed source that benefits literally only the supermassive corporations that you actually hate, like fucking Facebook. It's already being used to scale up surveillance to a level that was not even imaginable in 2012. And retards here cheer and suck corporate dick because they can generate generic anime girl #9000 or because it makes leftist artists angry. Dude this will literally kill everything you like. The old corporate dream of computers just being terminals phoning in to the cloud WILL be realized if they can scale this out properly.

LLMs destroy the idea of the GPL and free software, recent rulings support the idea that LLMs void any license/patent of the code fed into the LLM.
