At some point, we all knew it would come to this. The true, 21st century breakdown - The Fall of The American Empire. On election day, 2020, with COVID in full swing, the fires had already been lit; the election was just the tanker truck of gas that was dumped on the fire. While technically Joe Biden won, the Republican Party and its supporters were in disbelief and outraged. The Democrats responded with reciprocal violence, and eventually, it blew up into a full scale breakup of the country.

So it's obvious that I'm a big fan of The Fire Rises, it's a really fun mod and one I wanted to explore through the infinite lens of an AI bot. The main focus is on the sheer absurdism and dark comedy of the world of The Fire Rises. I wanted to keep it dynamic and open-ended. You can be who you want, and do what you want. The AI will even chat with you from time to time.

I did my best to replicate America at the start of TFR, but there are some errors and ‘artistic liberties’ here and there. If you don't like it, change it.

ALTHOUGH it has tendency to loop on a few specific things, sometimes for good (it loops on prose quality), most often for revolting things (so editing them out as soon as you notice the patterns is necessary otherwise it becomes shit)

this is fixable but having to consistently work around it does make them a bit worse to use, theyre not significantly worse than opus though and nonnet doesnt have this issue in my tests

I think R1 0528 is pretty good for cheap. It's my go to model whenever I want to have good dialogue, good arguments with char or have something interesting happen because it will stand its ground and defend all of its decisions. It's especially good for directormaxxing and better than sonnet if I'm playing as a narrator. I don't like new v3 very much because it made a bunch of logic mistakes but I think it gets in character slightly better than R1. I haven't used K2 long enough to have any strong opinions. So far the prose is very refreshing and the descriptions can be quite good during sex. Groq is the only provider you should use if you're on openrouter since it just werks. I haven't been able to use gemini at all due to OTHER and I'm too lazy to set it up correctly so I spend my time swapping between R1 0528 and Sonnet 3.7. I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and start paying for 4pus because I'm getting sick of sonnet's positivity bias. In the end, Deepseek isn't Claude. The thing that makes Claude what it is, is its ability to surprise you and drive the plot forward. Sonnet is really held back by the positivity because out of the 10 things AI could have come up with, Sonnet will only choose the 2 safest options. R1 will choose all 10 but it won't surprise me, while 4pus will choose all 10 and do something surprising as a Claude model.

I really wish I could put it into words. If I could I would add that to my preset and just use R1. It's the thing I was told back in the early days as the difference between GPT and Claude and after using it for so long I finally understand what that anon meant. R1 is very creative but Claude has this special mix of referencing old info in the chat, coming up with something creative, and just generally doing an interesting twist with good timing that's hard to beat. Imo R1 beats sonnet due to positivity, but Opus beats R1 due to the lack of positivity and this special thing Claude models do.
