idk exactly what happened with yandex but something definitly changed 1-2 years ago. It used to be GOTY for porn reverse image search, but nowadays you won’t get any returns unless it's something that's like in a million sites. Either a lot of porn hosters got delisted from their search index or they actively made their own search more inaccurate.

it was excellent before many porn sites deleted all their galleries. now quite a lot of the results are some combination of irrelevant/ugly/disgusting, but it's still a lot better than google.

Pimeyes can do amazing work sometimes but it's paid. I put in a photo of a girl from Montreal I made out with in Buenos Aires over a decade ago and it found her recent wedding photos. I wouldn't have even recognized her as the same person but when I went to the wedding page, the name and location matched. Sure, the eyes and nose matched but she was 19 back when and is 31 now so a lot about her face changed. It still figured out it was her just by the not great photo I took more than a decade ago.

Everyone doesn't even realize how fucking ASS search engines are today when with the tech we have they should absolutely be 100 times better than they are right now. What we SHOULD have right now in 2025 when searching the web is being able to search not only text and images, but also video. We should have user-made filtering tags and common general tags like education, government, news, etc... that we can exclude to filter out results (think steam tags, but instead of games it's for websites). We should have reverse video search, not just reverse image search. This isn't even getting into NSFW stuff which should be searchable.

I wish web-crawling wasn't such a hard and costly process (even having to go through Cloudflare's 'Verified Bot' program to make your shit even work on majority of websites without getting flagged), because otherwise there would be way many more competent search engines that would destroy these retarded regressive or stagnant search engines we have now. The best opportunity was in the beginning to compete with Google, now shit is too hard due to all the fucking rules in place from all angles preventing any start-ups from being made and competing.

i still use duckduckgo + yandex just for the sake that clicking an image takes you directly to the image without landing on the bullshit website that hides it in obfuscated HTML. if the image is even present at all, and wasn't just presented to the crawler and not to actual visitors

Yeah, something like this. Reverse image search was powerful for finding out what whores have done, and they should under no circumstance be held accountable.

Search engines also stopped indexing social media, deleting old result and removing cache, making it even worse.

Yeah it's the best option right now face-wise, but it's not that good. It hasn't had any match for me so far. You can search for free, that's all that matters, you can find the source of the pic despite their pixelation though.

Tineye will sometimes find stuff that Google and Yandex don't but it's not consistent
probably doesn't help that AI slop is so prevalent now it's probably mucking up the results

It's far from 100% but I do it will all search engines, if it doesn't work I redo with another of the same pixelated image. Usually find it eventually.
