Jetson nano (an Nvidia sbc) is used in Russian Lancet drones. They get their products from China who gets them from Hong Kong/Taiwan/SK. Nvidia is in the war business.

I guess getting a highend end fpga for asic development is much harder than just buying off the shelf nvidia hardware. Why not alternative hardware though? Computer vision has plenty of vulkan solutions I would assume.

LMAO zigger, it's a slightly modified Iranian Shaheeds. It's THE russian propaganda that calls these Gerans as if it was unique russian design. Lurk moar, pidor.

Aren't Shaheeds extremely simple flying mopeds with a bomb strapped to them that follow a pre-planned path? Did the Russians make them fancier? Because "computer vision" isn't something I'd expect on the original design.

my guess is they send them to pakistan and have no trouble finding exporters.

Calling them Shaheds causes extreme seethe though.

>Armata tank is a parade float at best
>planned IFV and APC derivatives of Armata are 404
>The military tractor MTLB is extinct
>BMP series and t-series tanks are rare
>Most assaults are done with GLA energy ladas, Chinese desercrosses and bikes

So they cope by saying the German is totally their own thing.

Did the total failure and humiliation of NATO wunderwaffe in Ukraine not teach you that big expensive projects are shit? Armata and all those expensive projects were created based on the same military experience as NATO does all their stuff: boomer thinktanks and Hollywood movies. Those projects are rightly buried, put that money into cheap, easy to produce tanks and IFVs, don't be like NATO that needs until 2035 to replace 50 MBTs.

Even the Ukrainians have had enough and are telling westerners that they have no idea how to fight a modern war and that they'd get steamrolled.

>what is /k/'s take on trade of these drones between iran and russia

No longer exists. Russia bought an unknown number of Shaheds and support for them for about ~250k a drone (there was a leak) in exchange for gold and fighter jets. Iran was payed with 2 tons of gold plus a promise of Sukhoi fighters. They got the gold but Russia reneged on the jets.

Now Iran is switching to Chinese jets (some already delivered) and, we can assume, will never buy anything from Russia ever again.

All new lawnmowers being launched from Russia into Ukraine are assumbled in Russia (Yalabuga, Tatarstan) with zero Iranian input (92% Chinese parts, 8% Russian-made). They launch them from the back of pickup trucks.

But we still call them Shaheds because it causes the resident zigger shills to seethe.

Russia is resource rich but skills poor. For a veriaty of reasons, not just because of the brakeup of the USSR, Russia had more skilled labor in 1988 than now. It boils down to competency being seen as a threat and punished instead of being rewarded.

Russia has a range of similarly shaped drones. Ukrainians keep calling them all "Shahed" which works in Russia's favor. They don't expect them to maneuver the way they do and pick targets dynamically, so it's always a surprise. There was some telegram drama over this recently.

I was just asking because it kind of looked like they used some evaluation-board in "production" instead of making a custom PCB, which seems rather inefficient so my guess was that it was some kind of prototype to write firmware on or something. There is way too much manual soldering work on that board but I don't know anything about electronics construction in weapon systems like this.

Tooling takes a while to set up and the expertise may not be at hand. You haveany monkeys and many soldering irons.

Meanwhile, the tsar reminds you that his plans must happen, and that the window is always open for more terminal travelers. The window is not for you, no, but for your boss's boss's boss. So everyone down the chain makes do.

The built quality need not be Raytheon tier. The thing only needs to power on once and stay alive for less than six hours. The truly unique QA edge-cases become decoys of which not even that is expected.

Meanwhile

Not even the original sneedheads flew straight.

It is not capable of targeting moving objects. The manueverability is extremely poor and the engine is just strong enough to keep it airborne.

There is a reason these are used to terror bomb civilian infrastructure and not in tactical parallel with action on the frontline.

Maybe someday they'll build up to that, but they're not there yet.
