any forensic experts here? how do you hide """"""vacation photos""""""
is there an encryption method that can't be defeated by a forensic copy of the device?

before you start making random assumptions, no I don't really need to hide anything, I had a forensics class at uni and I just assumed you can't defeat that shit unless you wipe/destroy the drive in time

pgp encryption with a good password and it's safe until quantum computing cums

Absolutely OBLITERATE your drives. Smash them into pieces and FUCKING MELTTTTTTT them into dust and have that be turned into a clear gas that you have smoked outside without any attention

Then do that with the cpus and mobos too. Can't have ANY hardware backdoors, can we?

Yes, just normal encryption with a password
>>105978830
That's hollywood bullshit, any le epic hacker would have an encrypted disk
>>105981279
Quantum computers will only crack assymetric encryption. They're useless for symmetric encryption.

I agree but what are they actually doing in the webm? Loading a live USB that clones the SSD?

I don't understand what you mean. If it's encrypted with a strong password and the encryption software was correctly implemented, the data can be copied but is completely unreadable. Quantum computers, as far as we know today, can't break symmetric encryption (and this is what will be used for local encrypton), assymetric afaik is for website connections/https etc.

aussie drug dealer(?) dude was running tales off the USB and the retarded glowie pulled it out (thus deleting everything because every time you boot it's a fresh live version of the OS, you still can have some persistence iirc)

Encrypt it with 7zip or use VeraCrypt or some other disk encryption software.

That's old, I think it was a drug dealer who got busted amd caught while "working" on his laptop. He booted his OS from a stick amd the officer, unaware of this fact, pulled it out.

You can mount volumes from persistent disks
>>105982282
A single bit flip will corrupt a zip or (usually) other compressed files. With encrypton tools like Bitlocker etc it'll be just a few bytes or kilobytes, no matter how big the volume.

Hide them in what?

I regularly hide shit like compressed archives within .jpeg and .png files. They're very easy to spot for anyone that knows what they're doing. But if they are password protected/encrypted good luck reading the contents without knowing the password.

Ironically, despite doing it all of the time the one time I did it for fun and made it obvious everyone freaked out and accused me of trying to place malware on people's computers. You embed one image file containing a compressed 7z archive with a password into an mkv and people lose their minds and try to get you banned from the torrent tracker.

Last time I make a game for people to discover and play.

Anon, normies no longer have any right to privacy. They will own nothing and they will be happy or else.

There is so much bloat in software, and it is so widely accepted, that I wouldn't be surprised if there are lots of stuff hidden there.

Just do some basic obfuscation on the archive (such as xor, flip bits, base64) before embedding it and their scanning software won't be able to find it. They almost all only look for magic bytes or headers, which would not be present with even the most basic obfuscation.
