For a long time I didn't quite understand why eugenics is viewed so negatively. I didn't see how preventing potential disabilities in whatever form could be bad.

but I think in practice you just narrow down the genepool and that has negative condequences on the children biologically. I'm not saying eugenics will lead to quasi-incest, but nature will not allow for homogeny. sooner or later new mutations will occur, ones that in a few generations could benefit the entire race.
also, two highly desirable parents don't have to necessarily produce a child with the same traits. I've seen so many good looking parents with ugly ass children.
