let it take a year longer, what's the problem? do you need new DE's like it's some sort of a drug fix?
DE's, all DE's, are not even needed, unless you're an "integrated/unified look" fag, and if you are, you should just become a macfag.
all a DE like COSMIC can contribute is a potentially useful "app" or two.

they literally killed their distro and company because they wanted to make a Gnome clone in Rust. could have just used a customised KDE and it would have taken them a week instead of 4 years

KDE got their shit together in the time it's taken for this to come out. It no longer has a use case. Plasma won (even Fedora bent the knee) and the Linux desktop has moved on.

This is the only DE that kind of interests me so the infinite delays are a bit sad. Gnome fails to deliver so I have some hopes for it.
