I was initially interested seeing this link
>How can we truly begin to start a cohesive and dedicated community whose motives and dedication are based off of the shittiness of the modern Web and unwillingness to settle with ticking timebomb sites managed by underaged children trying to larp like "the old internet was soooo quirky and full of glitter" who inherently reinforce the very problems that led to the current state of the Web in the first place?
then i realized it's some fucking roblox skiddie forum. I hate the retards here but I'm not going to a pedophile game forum, /g/ is my autism.

It's a psyop. They want you scared of no security updates to sell you the new slop, when the reality is that none of it matters unless you're running built-in server software in a couple very specific scenarios you're unlikely to encounter.

Retarded take, it more or less eradicated the scourge of shitty anti virus software that infected many PC's from the 90's/00's era.

It could be a bit less aggressive in turning itself on and scanning unprompted but its nowhere CLOSE to the worst ever.

any site that existed during 115 ESR magically drops support for 115 ESR is not worth using.
The only sites that 'drop support' for browsers as modern as that are usually made of React onions shit, which you shouldn't even be using anyways.

HTML, CSS, and primitive AJAX is all you need, and you don't even need AJAX for a functional site.

modern applications, aka any program that is regularly updated or came out recently, require equally recent libraries.
these applications might run on windows 7, they probably won't though. and if they don't you might be able to hack your way into making it run, but the longer win 7 goes unsupported, the harder that will become. and of course, if you try asking for support from the application developer you'll get laughed in your face and told to upgrade.

those are hacks that potentially remove functionality.
there's no happy ending for windows 7, it will eventually die like every other system before it. that's the way of proprietary software, you don't have access to the source code, so you can't even keep it going if you would want to.

that's actually a big deal because it makes implementing anything new much more tedious. good stuff was made in FOSS when upstream just kept going and the projects were forked, like cinammon in linux mint which is currently the most recommended to new users.
