I really like dragging notes around, connecting them with arrows like it's the Pepe Silvia meme etc. Are there any programs that let me do this other than Obsidian's canvas mode (the performance is absolute dogshit even after optimizing)? I guess Logseq's whiteboards, but that's just an Obsidian clone basically with very similar performance hiccups.

In case it doesn't ring a bell for anyone, it's pic related.

I'm sticking with jeetnook, thanks

... just markdown, not visually, just using markdown, the upside is that it has full git integration, obsidian is the worst UX i've experienced, the features are nice, but no idea under what kind of drugs the ux decisions were taken, and again the real killing blow for me is no integration with git

just put your .md files in folders
markdown supports hyperlinks, you don't need any more bloat than that

if you NEED the visual node graph presentation (you don't), you can just open the files in obsidian or whatever and it will show all hyperlink connections.
guarantee you will look at it once, say "huh, cool" and then NEVER EVER use the feature again

I don't know what program you're referring to.

Actually, nvm, it's probably Notesnook. Does it have any canvas/whiteboard feature?

It's not about the hyperlinking itself or the visual node graph though. I visualize stuff better if it looks like sticky notes on a fridge, if that makes any sense. There's a reason why so many "productivity apps" use that aesthetic. It works for stuff other than Kanban boards etc.

*It works for other stuff, not just Kanban boards etc.
Sorry, my brain is mush, I haven't had my coffee yet.

if you want a kanban board, use a kanban board, there's open source ones even
>where
google it I used one for a while

I might actually try that, I don't know why it hasn't occurred to me before. Porting stuff over will be a nightmare though, I've got a ton of notes.

check for import/export formats, json/xml might be your friend with some bash or whatever script that parses something into something else, there might even be libraries that take care of that for you and you just input the file into the program and done

I'll look into it, thanks!

sounds like bloat
just use folders, tags, hyperlinks

Maybe we're imagining different use cases, but I like to see my projects like pic related. It's not my screenshot, I don't do game dev, but I like the idea of it.

blender has nodes and it is open source, probably some other software operates with nodes that I don't know of, so you want multi-nodal interlinked kanban, sounds interesting

Ask chatgpt to fix the performance issue and then file a pull request

I personally have a directory full of .txts, each has a theme, in one of them you can find text info, and as a header right before the info, with a line break this format /* tag1 tag2 tag with spaces 3 tag4 */ So when I open one txt and Ctrl + F a tag I can find the info related to that tag
Anonymous No.106000783 [Report]
I keep actual notes in my desk and at the end of the week when I do some cleaning I throw them away.

to clarify, a single txt will contain many blocks of info and each block has its tags and related tags are manually sorted, without much effort just keep each topic after existing topic, so it's some kind of .txt db with much effort

My company pays for https://www.mural.co/ and I've pepe'd some pretty big silvias in it.
Looks like they have a free mode where you can create up to 3 canvases.
Has a bunch of nice keyboard shortcuts, like holding 'c' to add a new connector line.

can confirm, I've seen some very elaborate node graphs in there, off course it isn't open source at all, however, I remember using an open source project that had similar if not exact same functionality. it got closed source'd, how ever, how da vinci used to say, 'Cerca trova'
