procrastinating right now because the next task is boring, tedious and has a slight chance of failure if it turns out I misunderstand some of the logic.

Without going into details about what it is exactly that I'm doing, I'm making slow yet certain progress even though I spend my entire day working on it and have done so for a long time. The thing is that the slow pace makes me doubt myself, it makes me ask "is this really worth doing?" even though I know that if I don't, it will claw at my mind forever and never let me focus on anything else. Thanks for asking.

ugh. I need to implement multi-client functionality and I can't be arsed because sales are poor anyways, so why bother.

update: I fixed the thing I've procrastinating for 2 days in 5 minutes. Not even joking. Sure, I solved the theory a few days ago but still, 5 min for the actual programming part. Still a whole lot of other things to do but that's for another day.

abandoned. i made a really good meme about it, but twitter niggers cropped my project out of the big picture to farm free updoots. then it resurfaced on reddit and even linkedin. next time i should watermark and hide an invisible penis in the picture.
>game project
the idea that i have in mind is so good that it's worthy of an anime adaptation, but my wageslave job sucks the last remaining motivation that i have left once i return home, so i just do chores, drink an energy drink and doomscroll pictures of little girls instead of working on it. im just a little bit too tired to start working on it.

I wanted to do something with NFC readers and writers but the capacity and speed is less appealing each time I consider it. Aliexpress has nice Chameleon Ultra clones and it feels crushing when 12-22 USD chinkware already obsoleted your project.
NFC has capacity issues and QR is cringe but high capacity. Neither have dynamic signatures and dynamic NFC tags are low capacity again. I have a bunch of plastic NFC cards that are useful to immediately connect any phone to any wifi in the house or store a vcard, but I feel the tech never evolved past that.
Contactless payments are cool but out of spec and not what I want to work on. Apart from a FIDO2 authenticator, a weather station and a few wireless displays in my home, I feel there are no good electronics projects left to do that involve coding. I exited the game when the ESP32 C/S models released and never bothered. STM32F106 is nice, been programming 20 of there and they all work fine as Gnuk HSM for SSH/GnuPG.
I'm probably crazy for believing I still can build something that has actually use for me and normies likewise. Home automation is really just for boomers who think they need to control everything as if they are on deck of the Enterprise D.
Apps and AI ruined everything, just look at the Hacker News front page, it's a joke really.

I hate this mother fucker. All I want is a compiler like gcc and a stdlib. Why the fuck do you have to download python shit, 3IDE, 1 million config files, 2 Terminal, 100 drivers just to get it to print hello word?

Working on a DIY game console. Yesterday I have written custom RLE implementation and refactored whole project so it is properly split between platform specific crates, core, assets, scripts and put it all in one build system.
Now I have to put all the rest of components before I start working on the firmware for real.

I just use RustRover. You can install whole Rust Espressif toolchain with espup and Cargo can use it and flash with espflash, all with simple .cargo config. It just werks.

finally got the library and cli to a minimum viable product state yesterday. currently pondering the best way to detect when a folder/file gets changed on the filesystem and getting ready to bring in qt so I can start work on the gui

I've spent so much time on it and it's not really impressive so I'm embarrassed and demotivated by that.
Recently I've been having personal problems too which sap my energy and motivation even more, so I've been allocating time to trying to fix myself up so that I can be more productive / have less resistance.
In reality all I want to do is sit here and program but all the external stuff in life makes it difficult and causes unnecessary distractions.
But I'll finish someday soon anyway.

Had a talk with the project manager and gave a lot of promises so hopefully that'll whip me into shape to get some more progress on it because it's been stagnant otherwise.
