What exactly do you think should be happening? Everything is well optimized, there's no surprises and things just work. It's not hard to make personally interesting generations and it's not particularly hard to do Loras now either, all the trainers just work with a dataset folder and typing in run.py. The problem is many of you degenerates think this is 2022 and people find low effort generations particularly interesting. We've already done everything interesting and normal people don't need to share things that aren't novel. Probably just need a minor finetune on the base model to realign it and the promised gains could be extreme. Even if doubles convergence speed (under the paper's 7x) that's still huge.

I like didn't keep my notes so I am going to have to try to remember how to run docker, pass the gpu, pass the port so I can load comfyui, and map a folder, so it can use the models. At least I have a standard way of launching comfyui, which is just to use --novram.

I spent several hours to day trying to figure out a prompt to make consistent "movie stills" on Chroma using only Positive prompts, avoiding slopped outputs and heavily artifacted images, the best I could get was this:

Picrel were the prompt:

It is by no means perfect, you can see it even outputs youtube website screenshots (lol), but it is the closest I could get to an acceptable prompt after countless outputs. I figured if you use ANY prompt related to quality it completely slops the output, and if you use prompts related to photography techniques it gives all the attention to that and ignores the other movie style prompts.

Yep, from my tests, the only way to actually get consistent outputs from some niche styles is by adding several negative prompts and tweaking the aesthetic prompts per composition (the actual contents of the image). Note I did not specify year in those images, or if you specify the nature of the contents with wording like "an eerie VHS still of a horror scene (...)" it increases the effect of the aesthetic you are looking for, for that particular type of scene.

But I still think it is worth it looking into "generalistic" prompts that may get as close as possible to the desired results using only positive prompts, and when you get that, making good images by adding a couple of negatives become easy and -actually- consistent.

For the believers of replacing the text encoders for the models to get better results, for Lumina Image 2.0, I noticed there was a finetune of base Gemma 2 for better multilingual performance done by Xiaomi earlier this year.

Adapters are a different story, and although interesting in itself, this is not that. This is basically like replacing a CLIP with a different one out of the box in ComfyUI. Likewise, FLAN-T5 can replace stock T5 provided it's the same size and I even extracted a T5 FLAN finetune that was used to judge visual scores or images to use. Again, marginally better but you probably want something purpose tuned which I didn't do. There's nothing to adjust in terms of strength.

If they do have 30 fps you can actually double length by training with 15 fps clips or quadruple with 8 fps, I did some experiments and it does work if you do a Lora like its sped up footage (take 8fps and rescale to 24 or 30fps) then at playback you slow it back down to 8fps.

The new stuff used in my last training session.

JoyCaption is still mildly retarded, but I had to fix less of them this time, CLIP-KO was used alongside the VAE EQ in training and it converged about 1200 steps earlier (1500 vs. 2700 with the defaults), but was also a lot slower* (about 75min per 1k steps on a 4090). There were also artifacts from the EQ process? (aliasing, oversharpening and a fine crosshatch pattern), though there's a possibility that this could also be from the bucketing process (it scales images extremely poorly).

*It was actually about the same speed, but I had no idea at the time it had converged that early and wound up going another ~1500 steps beyond what was needed.

Unfortunately, the LoRA also no longer overpowers the slopped look of base Flux Dev using these options. Maybe dropping back down to 512 for training will reduce that crisp/smooth look now that it converges so much better.
