Can we finally agree that millennials are the worst generation? They're the reason we have such soulless technology in the current year.

on the surface this seems good but knowing zoomoids they'll prioritize the wrong parts of the tech for the stupidest fucking reasons. They already did this with "retro digital" cameras by spending a fuckton on old cameras with tiny garbage CCD sensors for the "vintage retro" look. Or they went film but decided to buy up all the decent film stock to use with intentionally shitty lenses meant to replicate the $0.05 lenses in disposable film cameras. They obsessively buy vinyl records but don't own turntables and in turn clog up the presses for releases because they *need* the latest taylor swift / charli xcx RECORD STORE DAY EXCLUSIVE VARIANT #85 release. A faustian bargain if ever I saw one.

It's a funny trend I've noticed that zoomers will take something that's been around forever, slap a new name on it, and say they came up with it. One recently was "micro retirements". It's where every 12 month, you take 2 weeks off from your job (or quit?) to decompress and reset your life. Sounds a lot like a vacation?

I started using wired again just because not dealing with batteries is worth it, you get a solid 1.5- MAYBE 2 years worth of usable battery life before you have to charge them constantly, and they are designed in such a way that even if you have the skills and tools necessary to change out a battery in other devices, modern wireless earbuds aren’t really designed to be opened without mangling the fuck out of them, aftermarket batteries suck for them, etc.

I’ve gone through 4 pairs of AirPod Gen 2’s since they were released because they fit my ear shape PERFECTLY but now that apple stopped making them and it’s a pain to change batteries I just brought out my wired Sonys.

Vinyl was a millennial thing, zoomers unironically think CD’s are retro and now they are doing that on TikTok and Reddit, it’s obviously the superior physical format so I’ll give that to them it’s based

>implying Americans only take a single vacation
Depends on the job and how many vacation days you get. But people typically take a few 3-4 day vacations in addition throughout the year, usually aligned with major holidays like 4th of July, Memorial Day. And a chunk of time off around Christmas and New Year that doesn't really get categorized as vacation. Not like the euro style where people all wander around the same places at the same time for 4 weeks in summer. Wagies here are fucked though yes

Depends on the job. I get 25 days of PTO, 10 federal holidays, 6 sick days, and I WFH 365 days a year with a boss who does not give a shit if I disappear around 2 pm. It's annoying that it's all split up into tiny little buckets but I'll take what I can get.

My previous role was 25 days of PTO, 10 sick days, 7 federal holidays, and WFH 1 day a week.

Below that, you have jobs that accrue PTO at a shitty rate, commonly about 3.33 hours per paycheck (comes out to about 80/year). Below *that* you have retard-tier minimum wage jobs that pay out truly abominable rates of 0.5 hours per paycheck *after* working 6 months.

My first job was working at a fast food breakfast place, I just checked what their benefits are now (20 years later...) and it's astounding how bad they are.

>Non-Exempt Store Team members do not begin to accrue PTO until 2 years of service. Non-Exempt Store Team members with 2 years of service or more accrue 1 hour of PTO per 30 hours worked. PTO is capped at 48 hours.

Imagine looking forward to your 2 year employment anniversary so that you can *begin* accruing PTO at a retardedly-low rate.

NTA but mostly true except for the immigrant part since I'm in Canada. But back then it actually pretty chill and still high trust and no real issues from that to speak of wrt to jobs or anything.
Front doors, cars etc were left unlocked.
Spent all day in the summer outside.
People left doors open with screendoors, you could just walk into your friends house in most cases to see what was up.
Internet was amazing in the 90s and truly something special.
Things are very different now for sure.
Shit does suck now and everything is fucked up in various ways. But I'm glad I got to experience the tail end of a western golden age, at least.

Wired Grados was the best i've ever had, but admittedly too much sound leak in and out. And 100% of my wired stuff wears at the end where it meets the phone. It starts with that cutting-out one speaker each step, and that's worse than nothing at all.

But, I find bluetooth devices cut-out frequently in cities, especially around cars and intersections. So I get packs of 5 wired earbuds for $5 total. One set of earbuds lasts maybe 6 months then onto the next. I've come to invest in the portable speakers I have at home and work.

>It's Millennials fault!
Millennials are the last generation to experience the soul of analogue technology but they are also amongst the first to be at the forefront of the wireless age. I wouldn't put the blame on them. The adaptation to wireless tech is just another evolution in the demand for conveniency that began with the iPod.

I can imagine it's mostly millennials who are keeping music ownership alive through the advent of private music BitTorrent sites ensuring lossless music is preserved in archival grade format through use of programs like EAC, without which you wouldn't even enjoy the sound quality provided by traditional wired earphones/headphones.

You are the unluckiest retard in the world or a lying nigger. I've dropped my airpods countless times and they've never received any sort of damage. Each airpod weighs 4 grams, do you have any idea how hard you'd have to slingshot that shit at the ground to impart enough force to damage it?

It's always the same with you retard fucks. "I used to have {thing} but it completely self-destructed after a week, no fault of my own!" I don't think there's a single wireless headphone on the market (outside of chink shit) that couldn't survive a drop.

The right earbud on the AirPod is broken. The left works just fine. Both batteries are fine. It’s just that the sound doesn’t play on the right ear. Plus, the shell of the right side came off after it slipped off my ear and hit the floor.

Tapping it causes it to work again, but only for a second. I just went back to my old beats cause I am not dealing with that.

Maybe it’s a bootleg repackaged as an official version? I don’t know.

Strangely enough I had two gen 1 beats and only one failed after a few months. Battery died and couldn’t be recharged, but the one I have now works fine.

My conclusion is that, I got faulty airpods. Not buying them again cause of the discomfort after 30 minutes of use and it slipping off if you slightly sweat

Varies based on employer. I have a couple of options. Convoluted and retarded but:

>Option 1:
Use PTO as sick time, take unpaid time off when sick, or have a chill manager who looks the other way while you do the bare minimum 1-2 hours of work a week.

>Option 2:
Short-term disability (intended for prolonged medical needs, such as a surgery + recovery)
>If you become ill or suffer an injury that prevents you from working, short-term disability insurance replaces a portion of your income for a defined maximum period of time. Plan details:
>-Beginning on the 1st day of continuous injury or the 8th day of illness, eligible employees will receive 75% of their weekly earnings for up to 26 weeks.

>Option 3:
Long-term disability
>Long-term disability insurance covers injuries and illnesses that keep you out of work for three months or longer. Plan details:
>-Beginning after 180 days of continuous injury or illness, eligible employees will receive 60% of their monthly earnings for a maximum of $10,000 per month.

Just so you know, Tidal ‘HiFi’ is not lossless. It just streams the MQA version of tracks with some metadata removed to prevent most DACs from recognizing it as MQA and limits streaming to 16 bit. I usually only trust physical media sources ripped with EAC as lossless, or pretty much anything verifiable from Redacted.

Combine this with "THE ESOTERIC KNOWLEDGE OF ROTATING A PDF DIES WITH US" attitude of millenials and you get "It's the millenials fault!"
