>implement this shit
>most sites you, the politician, are using are outright banning bongs rather requiring a face ID due to economical reasons
>can't visit websites you need for your job
>can't visit your favorite websites you used yourself cause it would cost way more than its worth

>can't visit pretty much any website really cause it would cost too much money

I just really hope major websites block uk access

really hoping wikipedia and the major social networks do it

I'd like Meta to do it most of all just so they finally get an understanding of what this law is. But it will never happen especially if even reddit has the money to cover it and keep "access" up.

Biometric internet is part of the open conspiracy and advanced by the WEF. It must be denied and destroyed at every facet. This is a huge step in advancing an agenda that makes the real players cease spawning.

Per the UK's government website: "The Act’s duties apply to search services and services that allow users to post content online or to interact with each other". ('Online Safety Act: explainer', www.gov.uk)
If your software falls under that, you will need to read the document. You'll be fined at minimum 18 million pounds for violating it, while also being criminally liable.

Stop selling to the UK if your software falls under the purview of this act.

i've theorized about it before and i think it has to do with the strong classism they have. the upper class doesn't really view anyone else as really human, so they must have all their agency stripped away from them, and every aspect of their life has to be controlled. but aside from that, i think there also has to be some intoxicating catharsis involved in it, like it helps said upper class feel like they're still at the top rung of society now that most luxuries of yore are accessible to even the poorest of poors

They should start throttling UK users and tell them to write to their MPs to undo it.
Wikipedia is already thinking of doing it.
The more sites that tell the UK to fuck off, the better.
US companies sperged out hard over shit like this in the past when the US were passing dumb laws, they should do it to the UK as well before that shit gets exported to their country next.

I don't think you're going to get extradited, surely Bongistani law does not apply where you live. You're not a bongistani citizen and you don't live in Airstrip One so their laws mean jack shit to you. What, do you think you're going to get extradited if you eat pork or drink alcohol too, because that's not allowed in some Muslim nation somewhere?

>>106015169
Nothing. If you're not a citizen of the nation or on its territory then its laws do not apply to you. They'll put the squeeze on their own ISPs in order to ban your website if they really want to.

>>106017601
It's not an EU puppet state, more like the opposite. Back when Bongistan was still in the EU, the Americans were trying to use them to influence and manipulate the EU from within.

I can't give an explanation but I'll add more datapoints. Britain is pretty authoritarian, both across all political parties and in the general public.
In 2024 the UK passed the Crime and Policing Bill, to allow the police to crackdown on pesky environmental protests characterised by protestors locking themselves to the environment in a hard to reverse way. The amendments allowed police to arrest/detain people who are locking-on, or have devices for locking-on (e.g. glue, any kind of string, a pair of arms). If you are planning on protesting, that is grounds for detention. These are/were later used to suppress right-wing protests too. All politicians, newspapers and the general public seem to be quite happy with these anti-protest laws.
There is also germinating support for electronic IDs to crack down on the underground/cashless economy that is attracting migrants.

Yeah
Here's another
Lack of police funding has made the police very lax with shoplifting, leading to gross shoplifting. The solution are cameras in shops that send every patron's face to a third party who compares that face with a list of shoplifter faces, and then notifies the shopkeeper if there's a match. (The shopkeeper can then dissuade the shoplifter.) Tbf only the smaller shops like Farmfoods seem to be doing this (they are the only ones who have put up privacy notices).
The public support for a lot of this comes from the docuseries 'Adolescence', where a kid becomes an incel.
I've been portraying the UK as highly authoritarian, but we don't have a national ID.

The EU was not the solution to authoritarianism in the UK, it is not a beacon of freedom. People who voted out knew both the EU and the Bong govt are a bunch of Nazis. Why not take the chance to get rid of one? Being a member of the EU would not have stopped this bill. Ask yourself what, if any, similar bills are going on in the EU?
