So I tried this "Linux" thing. You guys said video games just work. They don't.

How are the faggots usually blaming literally all linux issues on Nvidia going to cope about this one?

>you're using the wrong distro
>you picked the wrong game
>your gpu is faulty
>your mesa is too old
>your mesa is too new
>wrong kernel

Logs exist on Windows too mate. Even if you're unfamiliar with the Linux file structure, it's trivial to google "gpu error log Linux '

If your smart enough to google stuff your smart enough to figure out why your drivers are fucked up. This would be a generic driver crash popup on Windows.

You honestly believe a Linux newbie would open a terminal, launch what appears to be dmesg, search for the specific problem using whatever pager he's using, and show it here?

That's weird, AMD usually has a good reputation with Linux.
Anonymous No.106023762 [Report] >>106023982 >>106024092
>>106023276
no one said AMD was bug free thougheverbeit. you gotta be hustlin on the latest kernel releases and be real comfortable with debugging and reading kernel code.

if you want the most bugfree experience. you still with 1 or 2 gen old GPUs on a "stable" kernel. that's the reality of Linux. hell Windows isn't much better other than sheer momentum.

the tranny Asahi guy said it best. AMDGPU is basically a dumpster fire of incredibly broken shitcode.

You need to recompile your kernel to add DRI and Mesa support, retard.

What are you on about? I have an RX 9070XT and so far I have found zero issues. I never had to debug anything even with my R9 380 or RX 6600.

What do you mean by "stable". Many of you have the wrong idea of what stable means in Linux distributions. A distribution like Debian is considered stable because they keep the same versions for a very long time and only update everything in a major release. That's useful for servers but not for desktop users. A rolling release distro like Arch still uses stable versions, but they're near latest stable versions.

What you're saying is a "stable" kernel, really is a stable kernel.

I don't have to make it work on Windows.
Why are you so proud of wasting your time?
Anonymous No.106024092 [Report]
>>106023762
there are very few issues if you wait a few months after launch before buying and just run the latest kernel + mesa + gpu drivers in the main repo of an up-to-date distro like Arch. no need to debug or ever to read kernel code.

A very old ATI driver installer. AMD didn't even own Radeon at the time. Nvidia drivers were better than ATI in Linux in those days but not anymore.
