RTX 50 Super specs: 5070 Ti Super 24GB, 5080 Super 24GB, 5070 Super 18GB

>Omissions
RTX 5060 Ti: Both memory configs cost more than 9060 XT 16GB for the same performance and half the PCIe lanes. Only buy if you need cuda or value GeForce features that highly.
RTX 5070: buy if it's reasonably priced & if you plan to work around potential VRAM bottlenecks.
RTX 5070 Ti: buy if you need CUDA, if you value DLSS/Reflex that highly, and if the 5060 Ti 16GB or 5070 isn't performant enough.
RX 9070 non-XT: worth considering if it's significantly cheaper than the 9070 XT.
Intel 13 & 14th gen i7/9 -K CPUs: BIOS update required due to reliability issues. Recommended to set a CPU VR voltage limit (1.4 or 1.45V).

>Product Notice
AOC Q27G40XMN: nice budget 1440p miniLED monitor but inconsistent QC.
Bad one causes DisplayHDR setting to look overbrightened and desaturated when applying the best local dimming option.

Gigabyte RTX 50 & RX 9000 video cards: thermal gel has QC issues, Gigabyte claims only early production batches were affected.
https://www.igorslab.de/en/update-on-thermal-putty-on-gigabyte-graphics-cards-after-further-storage-oil-separation-to-an-alarming-extent-and-silence-as-a-strategy/

Avoid updating Gigabyte motherboard's RGB controller firmware, as it can disable board features such as Q-Flash Plus.

The only use case for intel is if you want multi thread performance but you're also on a very tight budget
Best for gaming = AMD X3D
Budget gaming = AMD 5600x/7600x
Best for multithread = AMD 9950x+(3d)
GPUs are more of a toss-up, AMD generally offers better value but worse feature set and is shit if you want to play with AI tools. Nvidia has also been speedrunning their way to the bottom with this gen of GPUs, between stupid prices, poor quality control and their drivers being in the worst state they've ever been.

>8500G
No point buying an APU if you're getting a discrete graphics card. All modern AMD CPUs include integrated graphics, if you just wanted a backup solution. Also, 8500G will bottleneck the fuck out of a 5080, let alone a 5090.
Spending $2800 on a GPU but not spending an extra ~$20 to double your RAM and be set for the useful lifetime of your CPU platform is retarded. This is also putting aside the fact that your CPU will run faster with two sticks instead of one.
Overall decent bait
If it isn't bait then you should see a doctor

Nova lake will be on a new socket next year so buying intel would be stupid. Zen 6 will ne am5. Nvidia has no good budget options. 9060xt 16gb is a much better deal than a 5060ti 16gb. The 5070 is basically the exact same card as the 4070ti and still 12gb and a 9070xt is significantly better for the same price. If you can spend $850 on a card then get a 4070ti. 4080 16gb is a retarded move when the 24gb will be out in 5 months and it costs $1500. The only nvidia card I could reccomend this generation outside of a 5090 is the 5070ti. The 5060s are all worthless and so is the 5070. When the 5070 super comes out it will probably be good value though.

If nova lake is actually good and they comit to at least 3 generations on that socket I will say go for it. But I will never buy intel again.

I keep getting random 3 second blackouts in my region, so I'm looking at a couple UPS. Question is, should I care about simulated sine wave vs pure sine wave? Are power supplies able to handle the simulated ones? Asking because the price difference between a pure vs simulated sine wave UPS is very steep, like 5 times at least with my available retailers

Remove the 5090 from this and it's a solid build. Should be able to play plenty of games on the 8500G, it's about as powerful as a 1050ti. You could play red dead 2, warband, day z, etc in 1080p easily on that. You could get a gold+ thermaltake psu, modular, for $100 bucks though and save some money. Also just use the amd stock cooler. Whole build should cost you $446.

PSUs don't give a dick about simulated versus pure. It goes directly to a bridge rectifier and fills a bulk cap.
It's why the vast majority are simulated sine with pure sine being more of an edge case for older equipment on linear power supplies or things involving AC motors

2 sticks not one stick. For good 6000mhz and cl30 sticks it's still not to pricey. Though if I were doing an integrated graphics build I would go for a case that was smaller and couldn't even fit a gpu. matx is a way better deal than itx so I wouldn't change that as much as I would like to go even smaller. 8500G should be able to emulate ps3 and switch pretty well too. I don't think going to an 8700G would be worth it. I hope they make some new zen 6 apus.

Reminder that if you are wanting to upgrade the gpu of your system with a bit older system Radeon is the better option due to less driver overhead. If you are something like 10th gen intel or zen 3 it would be stupid to buy a 50 series gpu over 9000 for 1080p or even 1440p gaming, you will get less performance in cpu bottlenecked situations on GeForce.

Literally everything I have is on a simulated sine wave UPS
Pure sine wave hysteria is not based on facts.
>simulated sine wave looks bad so it must be bad, I hear harmonics so it must be bad
That's literally the entire reasoning here.
Meanwhile your PSU would probably dutifully run on 120v DC if you fed it as such.

Learn how switching supplies work and see that beautiful sine wave immediately get destroyed upon entering the PSU

The part about PSU wear out by stepped voltage is bullshit.
But APFC and UPS do work against each other, stepped voltage causes APFC to consume power in significant spikes, which might trigger overload protection on some UPSes even when average PSU load is way below UPS max.

>But APFC and UPS do work against each other, stepped voltage causes APFC to consume power in significant spikes
Is clearly isn't a universal phenomenon however.
My NAS which is using an 1300W EVGA G2 and and a BX1500M have zero complaints or noises when on battery backup. It consumes about 180-200w
The G2 is clearly APFC. 99.999% of PCs are APFC, it's a requirement for 80 Plus. UPS units are meant to power PCs and yet most are simulated.
Maybe not all PSUs are compatible but most are.

What else do you want?
My FSP Hydro PTM didn't complain either when I was using that same model of UPS. I only quit using it because it's undersized to power my main PC+monitor for any reasonable time.
IDK why everyone wants to think the majority of UPS units are just out there to destroy PSUs.
The level of paranoia is off the charts nowadays.

Exactly.
>might trigger
>on some UPSes
I've seen some recommendations that either PSU rated max power should be 20-30% below UPS rated max power or real load should be 2-3 times below UPS max power at the moment of switching to battery.
That mostly matches my worst case experiences, though SOME hardware did work just fine when PSU max = UPS max and load was approaching max.

The difference between any functioning PCI 3.0 NVME and the highest end 5.0 NVME is miniscule outside of copying huge files, comressiing/decompressing zips and editing raw 4K video
SATA SSDs are significantly slower, but still perfect usable in most cases.

Is there really enough of a difference between VA and IPS panels to justify the prices of the ISP panels? I want to get a new monitor (32" 1440p maybe curved) but the price difference are huge.
I see a lot of people complaining about ghosting (gaming) in the VAs but those seem to be mixed complaints.

TN = outdated and look like shit
VA = shit ghosting, often shit latency
IPS = shit contrast, shit backlight bleed
OLED = ACK themselves simply through normal use
Mini-LED = almost non-existant in monitors, shit for reading text due to reliance on dimming zones

If you want the VRAM for AI work then it's still the best value option. But 3090s can have seen 5 years of use by now, and many of them had production issues such as poor thermal paste application and underperforming heatsinks, as well as transient power spikes and poor memory cooling. So if you go that route make sure you stress it HARD while you're still in the return window to make sure it's stable.
If you don't need 24GBs VRAM then absolutely do not get one, get whichever modern card suits your budget and has at least 16GB of VRAM.

Check the QVL. Usually under "compatibility -> memory" then filter by 64GB sticks. Ideally you'd get an exact match for the kit you're interested in because it's hard to tell whether any random set is running x4 (16Gb) or x8 (32Gb) and your board might only accept one of those configs. The fact that is supports 256GB is promising since that requires compatibility with at least one option.

Not necessarily. Just that the only 64GB kits they (successfully) tested were Crucial. I believe Micron was the first to market with 32Gb ICs so it could be that they simply haven't tested other brands yet (assuming Hynix/Samsung 32Gb ICs are even available). The fact that it has no x4 DIMMs on the list would indicate they're not compatible so be careful buying "server" sticks.

That's just the highest speed the CPU manufacturer is willing to warrant i.e. they won't send you a new CPU if your 4xDR kit fails to run 6000. The speeds are super conservative, for obvious reasons, but do give an indication of how badly 4 sticks performs vs. 2. Again, expect to manually tune any 4-stick config but 4800-5200 should be achievable unless you got extremely unlucky on the silicon lottery. Or, of course, just buy one of those 2*64GB Crucial kits.

I bought am4 with a 3600 coming from a 4th gen i7 4770 and have a 5700x now. I think if you need a computer just buy a 9600x now and wait for zen 6 to get a little older so you can snag a decent upgrade. Or if you are low budget buy an 8500G and no gpu then upgrade even more slowly with a gpu and then a new cpu. Now is a good time to just wait for am6 and just wait for the nvidia refresh coming in 5 months. If you are on am5 already things are going to be really great with zen6 and with an 18gb 5070 and 24gb 5070ti on the way. Next year will be amazing for am5 owners especially ones who are sitting on a 7000 series. And if you still have a rtx3000 series next year will finally be the time upgrading is worth it.

Weird. Yeah I would get the 7600 if that were the case and you wanted a gpu. If you're really poor honestly just get the 8500G, it's about as powerful as a 1050ti and could play a ton of games on 1080p with settings turned down. And it comes with a cooler. Here it costs like $150. If your overall budget is under $600 that would be my move. I used a 1050ti for a long time.

So i upgraded from MSI Z87-G43 to B760M DS3H AX (DDR5)
from i5 4670 K to i5 12400F

now i have two problems:
first i went for Crucial DDR5 PRO 6400 / 38-40-40-84. On the package it says it required 13th gen rprocessor. I5 i have is 12 gen processor. Speccy and windows detects this ram as: RAM
32.0GB Unknown @ 3192MHz (38-40-40-84). Its after enabling all that "extra latency" crap in BIOS.

Is this being "unknown" in windows a problem? I didnt notice any stability issues yet.

Second thing: I have 1050 ti installed. Could i upgrade it to get some total power increase in games like star craft 2, battlefield 1 and such?
Maybe an used GeForce GTX 1080 Ti?

I think I might have ruined my mobo, every component seems to work on another mobo but it just won't start anymore on the previous one, no POST beeps. Nothing. While I do have a warranty I have a feeling it won't help since I might have ruined the PCE x16 slot or the chipset (somehow), either way I can't tell. what I really want to know is: Are mobo repairs for ASUS mobos (where warranty does NOT apply) for costly than just buying the same mobo again?

The N doesn't even properly connect on the diagonal stroke in the 1080p closeup photo. Also the screengrab is small. Look at this example from the 5K Apple Glossy Retina Monitor:
https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/apple/studio-display
At 100% it's sharp and smooth (also if you zoom while fullscreen and then grab the scroll bar and jerk it back and forth horizontally from the left-to-right really fast while letting your eyes go out of focus, the large RGB background subpixels still begin to blend into back into white).

I'm currently on an RTX 3060. Is this upgrade worth it for that price? I could sell the 3060 for about 210โ‚ฌ-220โ‚ฌ in my part of Eurostan, Use case is 1080p-4K video editing and I game on a 1440p UW. I have a ryzen 7900 and 64gb of ram.
I have the free version of davinci resolve but will upgrade later this year to studio. Also use premiere pro and lightroom.
Is the 3080 12gb worth it at 388โ‚ฌ? I'd rather get a 50 series GPU but the prices don't seem worth it to me.

Yes I can trust the seller, they're basically the Best Buy in my region.
I'm considering bothering because I want more frames in some of the more demanding games I play and I like to have RT on when applicable. I played Silent Hill 2 remake that was typically 30-40 fps in most areas but there were moments where it dropped to under 30. I was playing with DLSS balanced. I'm looking forward to Silent Hill f but don't want to have my fps at sub 40 fps if possible. Either this, or I keep waiting to eventually buy a 5070.

I would look at the % difference in price then head over to techpowerup and see the % difference in performance. The 9070 will likely beat the XT, but you always lose price/performance moving up, so consider if you think the rationis particularly bas or not.

Depends on what you want to do. If you want one to overclock for fun or can use the cores effectively then its a really nice cpu.
If you're after more FPS in games then a platform upgrade is more effective for that

I9s don't even come close to 200w in most games (it's ~65W for GPU bound games and 110W for CPU bound in my experience
To also say a CPU is what is making your room warm implies you have a really low end GPU as anything mid-range easily produces much more heat

My fully unlocked and undervolted 13900kf uses ~195W in NFS Unbound on average. And that's only package power without accounting for vrm losses which Ryzen cpus include in their power calculations.
>room warm implies you have a really low end GPU
Sure if you count the 4090 as a low-end gpu. I ran it undervolted and it literally pulls less power than the undervolted 13900kf in NFS Unbound at 3440x1440 max settings lmao

Sorry anon but you bought a bad cpu. Its best to admit it and move on than to try to defend a garbage product

Get a 9060xt 16gb instead. Nvidia has abandoned their budget consumers. $500 for the 5070ti 16gb is ridiculous and 8gb is just a garbage buy these days. 9600x is a great buy and you can just upgrade to a 11700x3d or 11800x3d in like 3 years when they're cheaper.

Cl36 means slower and cheaper. You want cl30. You should be able to get 2x16gb 6000mhz cl30 kits for ~$90. Just buy a thermaltake if you want an aio. They're like $56-100. Or buy a big thermaltake air cooler like a peerless assassin 140. You don't really need an aio unless your case has shitty airflow.

The only thing worth buying under $500 is the 9060xt 16gb. Wait for 5070s refresh because it will be 18gb. The current 5070 is cucked and barely better than a 4070s to the point that they may as well be the same card. Nvidia abandoned the 60 series after the 3060. The last good ones were the 3060/3060ti.

If all you want is a 60 class cards performance you should also be looking for the zen6 apus. The 8700G is as good as a 1660 super and the strix halo is as good as a 4060. Zen6 will probably have an apu as good as a 5060 and as a poorfag you could probably just skip a dedicated gpu that way.

There is a $300 price gap between the 5060ti 16gb $500-550 and a 5070ti. $800-900. If you can afford a 5070ti that is what you should get. Video editing is actually much more cpu intensive than gpu. Gpu is really only used when applying effects for most editers. The 9070xt is currently the best value card in general and should work but I would look at your program specifically to check for compatibility. For video you want lots of cores, lots of ram, then a decent gpu. Gpu is usually least important for video editing despite what you would think. I would go for a high core cpu, 64gb of ram, and just an alright gpu if you're talking budget for video editing. 5060 should be fine for that as long as you're on pcie 5.
