Stop talking your ass. The primary reason for this is candidate retention. There is a measurable difference in response rates between the candidates you ignored before and the ones you sent a bullshit latter to.

The whole point is, in case existing primary candidate tells them to fuck off, so they can revisit the rejection pool and contact you again. Because of that bullshit email the response rate is higher.

By the way, as I often see complaints about hr roasties here, let me tell you, no, you are not rejected because of them power tripping. They are in fact, compensated per successful hire, so their very incentive structure is to propose the bottom of the barrel to us hiring managers. It's them who typically reject you, whom by my experience all typically happen to be 40-year something males.
