Can you use a VPN or are they going after them too? I guess that as a last resort, you could rent a VPS in the cloud and install a Wireguard/OpenVPN daemon on it, but a lot of sites rangeban datacenter IPs.
I feel bad for bongs, and I just know that this is coming for us French anons too.
I wonder how much time it's going to take before gooners go insane now that they can't get their fix.

I don't wish it on you. Public perception is that the French pay more mind to maters of liberty and freedom, whether this is true or not I don't know. But how do you realistically fight this kind of authoritarian globalist shit? You can't because, at least here, democracy is a sham and you have no power, the other people around you are retards who want this and you'd ruin your life if you tried anything. Literally just a nation of livestock.

Get a VPN. You'd be surprised how much of the internet is already censored for us. I thought piratebay.org was shut down for years until I tried the url with a vpn. It turned out it was just blocked by UK ISPs. No notification, it just gave you a "dns cannot be reached error" like the site didnt exist at all.

Also, get a pass for 4chan if youre not broke.

and don't think every other country is free just because they don't pass a similar law
when one of the biggest economic zones on the planet (EU) forces vendors to adopt the policy, businesses will just make it defacto required for everyone, because it is easier to maintain 1 point of service compared to 2.
existing ID systems will be salivating at the money available by enabling other markets, so they will push for it.
since the technical aspects will have been solved at that point, it will be easier for smaller rogue elements to push for adoption of these measures within their own regions even if they don't have nominal control of the political leadership

>existing ID systems will be salivating at the money available by enabling other markets
The EU's proposed digital wallet is a novel system based on zero-knowledge proofs enabled via some OAuth and/or OpenID standards.
Wallet apps will interface with the various existing national e-ID implementations to obtain a non re-identifiable limited-scope claim that is crytographically verifiable in a double-blind manner.

Existing ID systems need not apply. Any system that does less than zero-knowledge proofs and thus has the possibility of leaking actual personal data -- including stable online identifiers that allow for reidentification -- anywhere, is deemed unfit for purpose by the EU and online platforms cannot use it.

The EU itself is developing the entire thing open source; including a reference implementation of the verification backend.
Basically: all the identity provider middle-men are being cut out as unreliable. Which means all the spook-infested NGOs go with them.
They're not getting access to the EU's full corpus of citizen PII this way.

"existing" in my post referred to future service providers that implement (or at least provide contractual support) for the network that the EU is currently implementing. It was not meant to refer to ID systems and their suppliers that exist today (although logically some of those vendors will pivot into being the suppliers of the new systems).
likewise "salivating at the money" doesn't necessarily mean marketability and value of PII but simply the security of 10, 20, 50 years of government dole from winning the contract to implement at a technical level. those kinds of things aren't managed or directly employed by government, they are done by private companies who are contracted by government.

Ofcom forcing ISPs to block the site would probably be the best outcome. Most ISPs already do this anyway as part of their opt-out content filtering, but these bans are all at the DNS level so they are trivial to bypass.

>My OpenWRT router has a point-to-point tunnel to the VPS in London
>The London VPS has a point-to-point tunnel to New York
>Iptables and Ip6tables NAT MASQUERADE rules perform NAT translation on traffic forwarded from the tunnel to eth0 where traffic travels the wider Internet

Starlink satellites only provide the transport layer. You would still geolocate from wherever you are using the internet from. I think. Unless the satellites are not geostationary and have to serve multiple countries? Shit, this is actually a good point.

Unless you mean javascript geolocation which either just uses your phones GPS or triangulates a location using nearby wifis.

Better question: if you access the internet from the International Space Station, what would geolocation do there? Default to some NASA, Houston proxy?

There was another thread the other way, from my understanding the California government wants the OS (macos, linux, winbows) to start age verification on sign up so when you download something they send that info to the devs of the apps to make sure you are of age I think?

Which seems smarter than having every site do it. But why can't the parents just check that this is a child's phone or account? Why actually verify the age?

They want control, the child thing is just an excuse for the gullible.

I think I got it, I took a quick glance at vless/reality and from my tech illiterate mind It seems a way to connect to network with privacy being considered, similar to https but less cucked?

Privacy is considered in most modern VPN protocols. Vless actually doesn't offer encryption by default. Its purpose is to mask as regular https traffic so it doesn't get detected by specialized censorship systems

Cool idea, it seems is still in its early stages, I'm curious what does this do that tor doesn't? I know tor is banned in some countries, but there is still workarounds to make it work, also are there any communities that talk about vless/reality this is seems worth investing so time into?

Well it works and for now is the best anti-censorship tool that I know of. unnecessary for western countries for now though
>I'm curious what does this do that tor doesn't? I know tor is banned in some countries, but there is still workarounds to make it work
tor has bridges that allow you reach entry nodes in heavily censored countries, but the protocols bridges are using are possible to detect.
>seems worth investing so time into?
depends on how pessimistic you are. if eu/uk gets actually serious about censorship, implementing dpi is gonna be a logical step once everyone starts using vpns to avoid this crap. can't imagine this happening in usa though, at least for a long while
for now most communities are in Persian/Russian/Chinese as those are the countries with the most serious internet censorship
