RTX 50 Super specs: 5070 Ti Super 24GB, 5080 Super 24GB, 5070 Super 18GB

>Omissions
RTX 5060 Ti: Both memory configs cost more than 9060 XT 16GB for the same performance and half the PCIe lanes. Only buy if you need cuda or value GeForce features that highly.
RTX 5070: buy if it's reasonably priced & if you plan to work around potential VRAM bottlenecks.
RTX 5070 Ti: buy if you need CUDA, if you value DLSS/Reflex that highly, and if the 5060 Ti 16GB or 5070 isn't performant enough.
RX 9070 non-XT: worth considering if it's significantly cheaper than the 9070 XT.
Intel 13 & 14th gen i7/9 -K CPUs: BIOS update required due to reliability issues. Recommended to set a CPU VR voltage limit (1.4 or 1.45V).

>Product Notice
AOC Q27G40XMN: nice budget 1440p miniLED monitor but inconsistent QC.
Bad one causes DisplayHDR setting to look overbrightened and desaturated when applying the best local dimming option.

Gigabyte RTX 50 & RX 9000 video cards: thermal gel has QC issues, Gigabyte claims only early production batches were affected.
https://www.igorslab.de/en/update-on-thermal-putty-on-gigabyte-graphics-cards-after-further-storage-oil-separation-to-an-alarming-extent-and-silence-as-a-strategy/

Avoid updating Gigabyte motherboard's RGB controller firmware, as it can disable board features such as Q-Flash Plus.

for mid range gaming something like 5070 is best value
vid editing you should get a mobo with lots of pcie5 lanes for nvmes, moving large files around
9950x3d would be best of both worlds for cpu workloads on gaming and productivity

$200 more than $450 is 45% more money. Also a gpu that would stress a 9950x3d is $3000. For a 5070ti or 9070xt you aren't getting bottlenecked by even a 9600x at higher resolitions. Cpu bottleneck goes DOWN at higher resolutions so if you are at 4k- which you should be if you're even considering these for a build in 2025 it doesn't even matter. We're past the point of cpus mattering with the current gpus for normal consumers. You would be spending more money for no reason. You wouldn't even see a difference with a 5070ti between a 9800x3d and a 9950x3d in gaming unless you're playing counterstrike in 1080p and trying to get 600fps.

from my understanding the dedicated usb4 takes away some lanes. Their solution to this is letting additional non chipset nvme slots share bandwidth with the GPU. My x870e has one primary PCIe 5.0 slot, two PCIe 5.0 slots that would share bandwidth with the GPU and two PCIe 4.0 slots that are connected via chipset.

So what's with the paranoia about lane sharing from the PCIe slots.
Do people think PCIe 5.0 x8 isn't going to be enough or is it a feel good thing that your not "bottlenecking" your GPU irrespective if it is or not?

Always considered boards that could do something like 8x/8x on two PCIe slots to be a feature.

The x8 and lane sharing are seperate problems. For example my board has a 2nd full size pcie slot that shares lanes with my primary m.2 pcie slot. So I cannot use it and my m.2 slot at the same time because they share lanes. The 5060 x8 pcie issue is that the cards throughput on pcie 5 is fine but not pcie 3. So for poorfags (the only people who buy 60 class cards) that have an older mobo the 5060 is rendered completely worthless and worse than a 4060 or 3060ti because it cannot transfer date fast enough on x8.

As of right now it's not an issue at 1080p and 1440p, 4k you can count the games that will be actually problematic on one hand but it doesn't matter much because anything less than a 5090 (that will soon be replaced with a 6090) at that point is a waste of time
4 years from now who knows but even then I think you'd probably be better off with like 40%+ more performance. In my head canon the 12gb on the 5070 would be like an 8gb card in 2018.

And rightfully so.
Intel had one stipulation for allowing anything and that's to support customers.
Vast majority of Nvidia AIBs basically do everything and anything to not do that, so Nvidia has to be harsh just so customers have a chance to get reliable cards. (12VHPWR not withstanding but nothing stopping AIBs from using two.)

My GPU became busted but bought another one this week. The busted GPU was a budget one so no harm there much. I was going to RMA the busted one but looking at the comments of the customer service for the brand I had sounded like endless run around until the warranty was up. the only reason we don't have faster (oled) panels yet is because their scalers can't keep up and need to be evolved, like the new 500hz qdoled is the same panel as before just a new hardware to drive it at more hz and brighter

2ms persistence/500hz oled seems to be as good as 600hz+ TN/w strobing, diminishing returns are hitting hard here, need 1000hz 1000fps for 1ms persistence

resolutions possible with DP2.1+DSC 10bits:
8k 255hz
6k 386hz
5k 498hz
4k 750hz
1440p 1173hz

You want 4x16gb gddr5 6000mhz cl30 ram in a kit sold for it. If you go over 64gb there are usually problems on am5 boards throttling the ram speed. The only nvidia card right now that is an okay price is the 5070ti 16gb. But you should just wait for the 5070ti super 24gb in 5 months.

The strange part is not having black frame insertion. To get clarity of 500hz oled you need games to produce 500 frames a second.
But with bfi you can get better clarity at lower fps. The monitor just needs to be tuned to work with it.

No? Liquid coolers are nice for not being 2kg blocks weighing on the mobo. The liquid absorbs heat and the fan ramping up is less noticeable.

Then the 5090s having retarded large heatsinks that require anti-sag supports is stupid. If you're using 600w use a better cooling solution.

Does it matter if my UPS constantly switches to passthrough mode when I'm at load on my GPU (due to being rated lower than what my computer draws)? My UPS is rated for 600W, I draw that and more with my 5090 + rest of my stuff. Don't care to have the extra watt coverage in the event of a blackout, but it makes an annoying beep that I've now muted whenever it's overdrawing and in passthrough mode (APC). Should I just get a new UPS that can take it or keep it on mute?

Oh nice. I honestly don't know how all this works though. I first bought the budget GPU off Amazon a year ago but forgot add/buy a warranty from Amazon. When it became busted I checked the brand's site to see what I could do with it and it said their parts have a 2 year warranty after purchase I think. Looking up the process people had with sending parts back to them. One comment I read was someone dealing with them where they lied and said its a 1 year warranty even though the site said 2 years and had the guy going back and forth with them with a never ending battle that took months until his warranty actually expired.

So I really don't how their warranty works yet.

Looking to buy a prebuilt. Anything terribly wrong with picrel? Looking to run games at 4k60fps w/ video capture (not streaming). I don't really care about super high settings, ray tracing, or ai frame gen stuff. Bought last computer 10 years ago and don't intend to replace for another 10. $3k US is my hard limit (after tax so ~2700ish) and this is $3014 with the sale.

I sincerely have 0 interest in building so please recommend something prebuilt or a specific company if this is no good. Thank you, anons.

aside from the 9950x cpu, which is an odd choice as its designed for production work, not gaming, its okay. You're buying the wrong gpu for this date however, a 5080 with 16gigs of vram is simply a bad purchase when the super-variants are around the corner. Also that ram will be poorly specced and will undercut your pcs efficiency imo.

I don't value whatever the shills screech about vram efficiency, if you believe them you're retarded.
Also Cyberpower? they're shit, the best prebuilds are always from your local retail pc hardware store, or you could even make up a build and pay them to assemble it from their inventory.

because that would introduce another potential point of failure, and gpu boards are incredibly complex and sensitive, that's a bad idea with loads of things that can, and would, go wrong with user installs. 99% of pc users are not comfortable with removing their gpu coolers to reapply thermal paste, including me, who has been building and using my own pcs daily for over a decade.

that isnt an option these days because of DDR6+ vram though, it runs too hot and needs dedicated cooling, nearly as much as the gpu-core. Also not many cases can support the space requirements.

Its why if i was cringe enough to paypig for a 5090, i'd get the ones with a built-in AIO, it'd be the only way to cool it effectively.
