>>106105113It's a long drawn out battle that started when we went from dialup to DSL; porn became common and accessible enough, because the internet became common and accessible enough.
for some it is to genuinely protect the children, but then we should perhaps also curb the normalization of nudity and sex or and such of our society through ads and media, which would be the first thing children experience instead of internet porn. but going against that is prude and boomerish, and sex sells, so it is inherently pro-communist to bring that up. Result: internet porn must be stopped, ads can do whatever up to a point.
For some it is to kill general internet anonymity instead, because for example they are a journalist and they don't like getting mean tweets. Not joking here. There are faggots out there that want you to have to upload your ID to make a twitter account.
Obviously there are many reasons to want to kill general internet anonymity. big tech wants to finally with 100% confidence tie metadata/IP-address data/cookie profiles etc they built up to actual living persons. They can do this with 99.9% accuracy, but it is not 100%.
Zoomers are becoming so tech illiterate that they can not be bothered with these issues. They lured them in with smartphone technology and cloud services, and made the entire zoomer generation almost as techboomer as actual boomers.
We are losing this battle. And I don't know how we could win it. Even if we stopped developing a hundred different troon distros and put all that effort into one usable, secure-by-design & privacyrespecting-by-design opensource and free operating system, I'm worried
