>People often misunderstand what "entry level" really means.
>For example, a hospital might post an "entry-level" surgeon position--meaning a general surgeon with no specialization. But that still requires an MD and years of residency. Itโs hardly entry level in the way most people think.

if you only reward people based on seniority, then innovation dries up, young people stop giving a fuck and people start to lie on their CVs en masse

I just checked and noticed the domain name is parked... on a namecheap platform, apparently by namecheap itself. are these fuckers trustable?

I don't know wtf I am doing with my life anymore. I'm close to 40 and I've only had one gf, at 33. I want kids, but... By this point, they will see me as their fucking grandad.
Should I just kms?
Hey guys it's me Netherlands anon/Dutch anon. After my bipolar diagnosis (they say it's schizo-affective but they misinterpreted the delirious mania symptoms) and run-in with the court I've been in treatment and delving into psychology and been unemployed in my IT field after a reduction in force event last year on this exact month.I thought I was the only one in the crapshoot, but the unemployed tech workers general showed me the bad market really is an industry wide trend and not just LinkedIn's algorithm giving me copium. What certs should I go for to get back in there? I currently only have my Security+ and was going for my Network+ and A+ just for the sake of it/HR filter, but I kind of want to advance my career even if my latest one was only me being an end user support specialist. Criminal record will make it tougher of course.
>>106099400You're only 33, the body goes through its first major biological change at 34. You're pretty much still in the decade of your life where you can look pretty amazing with proper nutrition and an exercise program.
>>106099471I misread your post. Even if you're pushing 40 you can still change your eating and fitness habits and do really well with what I said. You just really need to look into what you want in a person. Join online communities, check out twitter, go outside and just check out different places like the library or go to events that they might have on the board there. If nothing works out the next best option would be to just adopt an extended family member, pay for a surrogate, or adopt someone not blood related and just see if you can find someone in your life later without worrying about children now.
>>106099431CCNA if you're doing hell desk certs
do people still catch covid at work?
>>106099471>>106099501I don't need to change my eating and fitness habits, I already take care about that. In fact, judging by how many women seem interested in me just by my looks, I seem to be attractive. The problems are:
- I suck at socializing. I'm too brutish. I don't have much love experience either.
- I'm still in my "trying to fix my life" phase, and I currently live like shit. I own land and could have my own house, but... Things have happened, and I've taken bad desicions (at least to fix things in a short timeframe).
- I'm very fucking good at wasting time. I've lost a lot of time in my life and I'm still doing it.
>>106099537I had that, AWS certified Security, Network+, and CAPM on Udemy while I was studying during my manic episode. Should I still go for CCNA or pivot for one of those other ones or buy a new course instead?
>>106099656You can waste time and adopt an extended relative or have one with a surrogate. All they really need are a home and someone lonely like you. You're already much more capable than those that have kids but have child protective services on their tail.
>>106099667I mean, I could just get a single mom gf if I was to choose. But I suspect I would be a really shitty parent... Because, again, I suck at socializing. I was a NEET for almost 5 years, I rejected lots of women because I was kind of scared, and now I barely go out anymore.

>>106099779I probably do. I discovered that shit like a year ago. I don't know what to do about it though. Should I just keep forcing myself into other people? I've already killed some relationships because of my fears and retardation...

At this point I'm convinced that all the Sinophobia is perpetuated by jealous Jews who are feeling their reputation as super geniuses threatened.
This is the Super Intelligence team at Meta. All earning 8 to 9 figures yearly. Practically all of them are ethnic Chinese.
There are some notable exceptions like Matt Deitke who was offered 250million over four years to join, but still.
>>106103006Jews makeup nearly 25% of the ""White"" applicants in major disproportion for actual population to Ivy/Top private schooling in the US. Of that if you want to be a doctor, lawer, or engineer you have to face the major diversity hire the jew in the way who gets special access first to these positions. East asians and whites are ranked below that of acceptance to these careers/degrees/schools of blacks who normally would not score enough to get in and instead end up failing out for not meeting the bare minimum.

>>106103105If your manager is really that stupid, he could be sailing you down the river without realizing. Doubt your director is as dumb. Either way, going around you with consultants on a call they didn't invite you to can't possibly be a good sign. The only time I ever saw this was on a government job, and they did it prior to axing entire teams, regardless of the teams performance.
>>106103110The PhD locations are mostly considered higher end on the spectrum of quality ie in this case they actually had the lab material to train them to become proper scientists instead of some paper jockey who lacks real world experience of a research lab. For the chink colleges that most of them attended for their BS/MS it seems like they are also top colleges. While US and other countries degree programs vary it seems like most of is inline enough for it not to matter. Clearly education is a major factor. But the chinks being involved in these numbers could also mean that china is front loading smart people into positions it cares about by hand selecting from the best talent. This is rather common as US picks up top talent from these schools for MIC but civilian companies have to get the scraps after that. For US / CS degrees the quality difference isn't all apparent between colleges but top colleges do have clubs such as robotics/control arms/ect ect ect that make up a major difference in integration between CS/EE/ME ect this including top internships makes going to these schools a major difference in outcomes. Another factor that i hear plays is that classes go more in depth due to the average being pulled up from top students so you can cover alot more ground in education. For the chinks you basicly have high school in middle school, college in high school and MS level education in your BS

>>106103824Yeah, followed swiftly by hyperinflation, followed by killing each other for scraps, followed by a controlled opposition revolution, which will fail because we've been set up for a race war and then some charismatic hero will ride in and restore order for whoever is left.
Our entire team got PIP'd half a year after an acquisition. Already some work is being outsourced to India (who produce shit). Today, Friday, a few coworkers and me just drank beer at the office. It's over but I guess it's okay.
Getting into tech was a mistake. If only I had been into something different as a kid than computers.
Should I get Azure 104 or AWS SAA? Which is more helpful/beneficial to my career? Iโm a sysadmin thatโs dabbled with aws ec2โs and made some Azure files/avd at work but thatโs about it.

"Berliner" are the worst. Both the indigenous people and those that are only in >Berlin for politics, the media or studies.
That the public infrastructure is crumbling alongside the historic buildings reminds me more of Detroit than of Washington, though.
>>106104282Meh, a friend of mine has a bio degree and he says it's even worse than CS because you literally have to be a postdoc with 272628 publications to get even a decent salary in the first place.
Otherwise you'll just be a labrat (it's like a codemonkey, but worse)
>>106104328Pretty sure post docs get paid even less than professors/scientists. It's like being an adjunct but 10x the amount of work for a college.
>>106104356Sorry, I meant postdocs in the sense of having a doctors degree, not being a literal postdoc at uni.
Having a doctors degree is basically an entry level requirement kek
Sigh, officially getting re-orged to a new (much more stressful) area at my company. Boss point blank said "your wlb will be worse there unfortunately". I don't really have much leverage though since I am 100% remote and they are slowly trying to implement RTO, so I kinda have to go along with it and say "yes sir happy to do that sir!" even though I know it's gonna be a shit show.
The remote work ride was fun while it lasted I think lads (2020-2025 for me). Looks like I am going to have to take a big pay cut and find something locally in the next few months here.
>>106104328Depends on the country but he's right. Lab job is shit and underpaid, but I could have gone the geology route and at least spend time outdoors.
>>106104328A friend of mine with a biology degree, phd and 10 yoe makes less that I did when I had 3 yoe as web developer with no degree, while working way more than me.
>>106104389The trick is to find remote work for a company that either has no office, or has no offices in your city or within driving distance of your city.
Even when my company did partial RTO (3 days in, 2 days out), they couldn't make all the remote folks like me go in because I live 500 miles away from the office.
>>106104427Or a company that's not retarded and realizes they don't need an entire fucking office building. My office has a capacity of like 40 people which puts a pretty blatant cap on any RTO ideas (thank fucking god)
>>106104427Yeah, I suspect I will be able to coast it out for another while, but they keep tightening the restrictions and have implied they would want me to eventually move to the HQ (not gonna happen). Honestly at this point I am okay finding something local and lower paying I think, will probably be less stress than this massive global company anyway.
>>106104328America just hates STEM workers. It loves the silver tongued bullshitter. It wants you to be research coolie making $50k as a postdoc.
If I could go back in time, I'd study law, finance, or medicine instead of a field where the country resents the idea of you ever making money. In too deep with tech at this point, however.

So many of these comments i see on other forums its clear as day they hate us and would love to pay us 35k$ yearly while they manage us and take all of the credit. Any ideas and tips for investing in my carrer?
How do i spend money on my carrer? Is there any option besides certs?
I really hate formal education but im thinking about paying a masters degree, more because of the networking than anything else. Yeah, im well aware that for technical roles certs and additional education wont help that much. The point is i see myself with a lot of free time and extra money nowdays.
>bro just save so you can retire at 35
Nah, fuck that. I really, really dislike this idea. Also i dont hate my job.

Brehs..... they ever make you do one of those online training courses? That says it's "estimate 30 min" but you can just click on through to the end and attest that you "watched" it and be done in 30 seconds?
This is the next goddamn evolution. I am in a fully-interactive 2+ hour sexual harassment training, and every single page has different "steps to complete" before you can move on. It's not just listening to a lecture, you also have to click things on each slide, every page is a mini-quiz. The buttons are always in different places, so you can't script autohotkey clicks or something. They don't even allow 2x audio either. Also, you cannot click off to another window/program, because the site detects when it has lost focus, freezes the whole thing, and then when you click back it starts over at the last checkpoint. I am now in Hell, deeply learning about "gender identity protected characteristics" against my will.
>>106104814>not like i can buy some expensive pc and do things i cannot do now.what kind of gear do you have access to? Local LLM inference could be a nice investment. Also, consider developing for headsets/smartglasses etc.

INTERVIEW QUESTION: what stack would you use to handle 2 million zoom connections with no loss of video/voice quality?
>>106105274Building a superstack like that is EASY. It's just not economical, which is why it's 2025 and these things still happen all the time. You have to build for the median average case, and have elastic infrastructure that scales up and down as needed, to preserve as much margin as possible and remain competitive. The real trick is designing that elasticity and how far it *should* go, and how fast. Also, sometimes you *want* a sudden spike to "crash the platform" and make the news.

Being able to solve leetcode problems and system design whiteboard interviews is all that matters once you've got your foot in the door. Nobody cares about your ad-driven TODO app with 5k downloads. It's genuinely worse than not having anything on your resume because at least in the latter case, there's a chance you've got something you aren't showing the interviewer. In your case, you spent a couple weeks shitting out an app nobody cares about, and you think that's gonna distinguish you from the 1,000 other people applying with the same shit on their resume. Meanwhile all the interviewer is there to confirm is whether you solved their leetcode medium in 30 minutes or less (you didn't).

Why are browns allergic to typing? Every single time someone needs something from me they want to have a "call to discuss" rather than typing out a message on slack with the relevant information, PR link, whatever. Instead they want to call where I need to extract this information from them which is a total waste of time, and forces me to work on THEIR issue immediately rather than on my own time. >>106098043>What are the white serfs going to do, take up arms? No, they're going to ignore it until civilization collapses and then the human race ends. There is nobody else to advance technology, build societies and machines or make life any more efficient than wheeled carts and mud huts. If whites go away, you're looking at the permanent stagnation and eventual extinction of the human race.

>>106112099I really don't get this obsession with long hours that Elon and foreigners have.
What matters is output, not time spent working, and by hour 10 of a shift you're way less productive than you were at hour 2.
>>106112120Same goes with them studying 12 hours a day for subpar knowledge as the result. You can easily exceed anyone with just 2-4 hours of education daily. Clearly this max work max study mentality is failing.
so, what do you guys think about LLMs, """AI""" and shit?
I'm a skeptic but I'm starting to get worried, seeing how a lot of people recommend using it.
I'm not a dev by trade and my job is "safer" to some degree, but... shit could get bad overnight one random day and I'll be fucked. upper management is already trying to get us to write our replacement in the form of automation scripts and stuff. I'm not doing any of that shit but I could see some of my coworkers getting desperate and doing it (though it would be really fucking stupid, since there are tons of tools to automate analysis, even FOSS ones. company is just being cheap and retarded)

>>106112099I would demand this if I had to be at the office actually. This way I could collect a massive salary without paying rent or having to commute.
>>106112157>is Musk proud of being a modern enslaver?Yes
>how has leftist media not paid attention to this, considering they have been criticizing china for decades for similar stuff?Dawg, where have you been? They've been shitting on Musk since he took over Twitter.

>>106112157>is Musk proud of being a modern enslaver? You may find this difficult to believe, but some people have jobs they find enjoyable and fulfilling, and they don't _want_ to be limited to forty-hour work weeks. Elon himself works at least as hard as his engineers do.
>>106112183>collect a massive salary without paying rentYeah how terrible to be making >200k and paying 30k per year in rent. I'd totally trade that to live in a tent.
>>106112311I can't stand paying rent and there's practically no difference between a wood apartment and a tent in the office. Plus commuting is a pain.
