Anyone actually replacing jobs with AI is retarded. AI can and should be used as a quality of life booster, like self-service customer service and allow actual CS agents work on tricky or opt-in customers. But if you're an outsourced low IQ work in a third world country who already aren't much better than ChatGPT, yeah you're losing your job.

Graphic Designers are already jobless because of AI.
Youth in Math and CompSci struggle to get jobs (not just because of AI, but it sure as shit ain't helping).
Professional actors are losing their jobs left and right.

AI is already taking jobs. It hasn't taken your job or my job yet, but it won't be long till it does.

sar this is garbage
writers and authors ever replaced by AI? Maybe the sloppiest of the slop internet articles (always made for marketing) and shitty news websites (made for ad revenue).
But actual writing? AI has no intentionality, cannot have depth of any kind, cannot write good poetry and it will never will because it's not truly intelligent, it's clever and it lacks the simplicity and unity of a conscious mind.

to be fair people have the wrong perspective about math with it, it shouldn't replace math work by relying on its stochastic parrot abilities to hustle trough correct answers, but rather in writing coherent and clever mathematica syntax in the background and running it on their servers then interpreting the data for you or adapting the syntax based on plain language inputs

is this a shitpost? lmao. though honestly I could see AI doing better in 'social' jobs than a lot of people assume, especially sales. LLMs tend to fall apart into hallucination fever dreams in fields where you need specific/deep technical knowledge and being wrong carries potentially severe consequences.

>>106104370
Jokes on you, I work for the government and I chose this career path specifically because most local governments are ~20-25 years behind the curve. You could automate my office with 6 FTE down to like 1 to 0.5 FTE at most with technology we currently have for less than what it costs to employ us all for a year.

But we also could have cut down from 6 to 2 or 3 FTE using technology we had over a decade ago. But my boss's boss has a budget and needs to make sure he spends it because if he has anything left over at the end of the fiscal year his budget gets cut. Better to overspend taxcuck dollars because then you can argue for more next year. The last time they used tech to get rid of jobs is when they cut the word processing division in the mid 2000s (lol).

any of those that still exist are there because the company wants them to be human. PBX software to let you press a number and get your call routed is something that has been around 40 years now I'm guessing.
>travel clerks
>hosts and hostesses
>passenger attendants
>personal finance advisors
these are all jobs where the fact that it's a real person is the point. they're seen as luxuries. people with financial advisors want the human interaction or they'd just dump money in an investment fund.
i'll be most convinced when openai announced they've laid off half their workforce because chatgpt can now do the job.

If the dishwasher (the machine) or the TI Speak & Spell were introduced today, they’d think it was AI that has achieved AGI (whatever that is).
Does’t matter how stupid you think people are, you’re over-estimating them.
I worked in an office for 35 years. It’s true that less than 20% of people churn out more than 80% of the useful work output.
So yes, 80% of almost all jobs could be replaced by *nothing* and we’d be in better shape.
Which is all they’re doing, since AI (as they understand it) isn’t even real.
