Well yeah no shit there were almost no takers for $3000+ 5090s or similarly-overpriced 5080s.
The whole 5000 line is useless garbage for AI anyway, 32GB is not enough for fp16 models.

Notice the DGX Spark didn't launch in July as planned. That's because the general consensus is that in it's current configuration, it's an overpriced piece of shit with a low CUDA core count and laughable memory bandwidth. No one's going to buy it for $4600+ configured like that. It's a waste of money compared to the 6000 Pro.

>The whole 5000 line is useless garbage for AI anyway
Absolutely but not even because of the limited VRAM. The HPVR or whatever that faggot ass connector is called is bad enough to just wait it out until they get back to their senses or the bubble pops and cheap H100's flood the market thanks to company liquidations.

>"wtf people aren't buying our multi-fakeframes??"
there is no reason to upgrade anything from 3000 series all the way to 6000 series which is 2027 - and this includes the upcoming supers with 50% extra ram. the only way it changes is if china starts getting ready to invade taiwan militarily

it's like saying iphones are unusable, buggy dogshit because some people ran into some bugs
yes, some people have some pain points under some conditions. the vast majority haven't noticed a single thing. The only real issue is the lack of... physx? or whatever the hell it was for some old-ass games like mirror's edge and borderlands โ€“ in the unlikely case one of those is your favorite game ever that you replay thrice a year then you might want to avoid the 5090. in every other circumstance you'll be fine.

That being said, 5090 is kinda garbage. Hot, loud, guzzles power like mad for little performance uplift. I'd rather keep 4090 until we get 6000 series unless I needed it for a workstation.

Blackwell is a refined Ada Lovelace. It is on the same node so there's no change in power efficiency. All performance increases come from boosting clockspeed higher and/or throwing more TMUs, shaders and tensor cores into the silicon = higher power consumption.
Blackwell's successor will continue the trend of focusing on more general compute and tensors core and depreciation of graphics logic.
MFG is going to be a fact of life from the Nvidia ecosystem moving forward. It is the new SLI.

5090 completely outclasses the 3090 in every avenue. Whatever it is worth the premium that difference over an used 3090 is another matter.

Also the 5090 seems like a waste of power if you only use it to play dumb moviegames at 4K unlocked fps with ultra mask ray tracing
I want lean cards with lots of VRAM I hope Nvidia gaming GPU business models ends. The AAA releases are dogshit gameplay-wise yet they require a 5090 because the graphics are overcooked. It's all smoke and mirrors

You're just asking how MSRP works. The engine manufacturer has no say in how much you charge for your car. But if he sells you and your competitor the same engine at half price, your competitor will lower the price of his car to undercut you because he can afford to. Who is gonna pay $30,000 for your car when your competitor with the exact same engine is charging $20,000?

As long as you paid close to $750 instead of getting one of those ones priced like a 5080 FE, and you don't need fuckloads of VRAM, you at least got the least retarded card of that generation.
>5060 Ti 8GB: sucks
>5060 Ti 16GB: reasonable VRAM but underpowered
>5070: only a little underpowered but deliberately gimped VRAM
>5070 Ti: strong enough, adequate VRAM
>5080: same VRAM and GPU as 5070 Ti, just with like +17% of the GPU die enabled for +33% price
The whole generation is designed to "it's just a little more..." you all the way up to a 5080, but you stopped at the least shitty rung on the ladder, good job.

A 24GB 5080 Super would not sell if it was $1500+ retail.

Ignoring the soft and hard cooked books that every publicly traded company does (yet nvidia advertise 5090 Blackwell as a.i chip not gaming)

Every sas/cloud/endpoint a.i bullshit company was buying 5090 just as they where buying 4090 before that.
If u look at endpoint providers for example, most efficient and plentiful products offered is 4090 and 5090.
I heard Chinese 4090 and 5090 mods that come into western sphere light from time to time is meme tier in comparison to what they do at datacenters there in order to bypass and cut thru all sections.

Nvidia prob curtently have more workstation and data center gpu in warehouse than they have consumer one's as they even summoned and announced ancient row hammer fud a month ago claiming consumer gpu's is security risk and enterprises should buy ecc hardware to be safe.
They even wanted to reduce 50 series production when it was impossible to find any.. why? It was selling out instantly... i be bold and say it wasnt because nvidia hate money, but because no sane person was buying 6000 and they ran out of space in warehouses for it.

46% of nvidia revenue comes from 4 big customers, these clearly dont give a fuck about price efficiency or any of this jazz, just buy most expensive shit and call it a day. Remove them from the nvidia data and it all makes sense instantly even with if data is cooked.

Tldr : you are a chromosome inefficient retard polluting the board with plebbit drivel.
Sorry for grammar its 5am and im wasted.

>Prices so high that it resulted in previous gen's price to skyrocket due to how similar they are
>Shitty drivers and removing features
>Njudea going all in on judaism

i mean i am on team red but what you said and what you posted shows you are an illiterate fucking retard, nowhere in the graph you posted shows 5090 is slower than 9070, it just means if you have a 5090 you also need the best gaming cpu as well, it is known that nvidia drivers have huge overhead and requires to be paired with the best cpus to get their performance
