More precisely, X.Org was intentionally ruined by Keith Packard, Kristian Høgsberg, Daniel Stone, Adam Jackson, Intel, Collabora, Red Hat, and X.Org Foundation, from 2004 to 2008, because X11 was becoming simpler, thanks to the efforts of XFree86 developers.
After they ruined X.Org, all of them collectively moved to Wayland, and with the help of Pekka Paalanen and Matthias Clasen, from 2012 to 2018, managed to ruin it even faster.
XLibre is different, because its developers have principles, and won't let anyone control XLibre with changes to APIs or toolkits.
