>>106139058 (OP)That infographic doesn't mean what you think it does. Lol
Expected LIFETIME return - debt
Well, fuck. A tradie cuck has near 0 debt and will at least make a million over 40 years. Wtf
Were we scammed, college bros?
>>106139088>>106139123I'm on my mcSlop break
From what I gather there's some strategy to what you can and can't lie about on a resume, which depends on the company and HR process.
>>106139058 (OP)Sometimes I wish I had majored in computer or electrical engineering but I think I'm too much of a brainlet
>There are 22 year old skibbidi rizzlers vibe-coding their way into jobs and you are stuck on /utwg/
Bump. What are we working on today?
I've had 3 recruiter screenings in the past month or so.
Here are the demographics. 2 white men, 1 white women. When people say that other races help their own, they aren't lying. Being white means also being cucked by 90% of other white people that feel guilty for being white. fuck this shit.
>>106139270Im a massive brainlet and am getting through EE okay
>>106140649nta, but i got a C+ in Calc 2 due to not giving enough of a shit about series and sequences and weird integration tricks. Don't know how I'd handle calc 3 (which isn't required by my school for CS, but for other engineering degrees)
>>106140268I ordered a new mouse and it has shipped. I am refreshing the tracking page all week until it gets here.
>>106140677>and weird integration tricksMy brother in Christ, did you really get filtered by partial fraction decomposition?
>>106140746Yes. NTA but I kind of blame the way that integration was taught to me. I would probably "get it" if I tried to study it now but the first time my teacher basically taught it as "yeah it's basically trial and error and there are no hard and fast rules, now here's a bunch of hard and fast rules that we're going to teach you and test you on." I had an easier time with discrete math because I managed to get a B by acing the final even though I was running a C- the rest of the year.
>>106140780>I had an easier time with discrete mathI'm the opposite, I loved Calc 2 and didn't like Discrete. It wasn't super hard or anything, but the problems weren't as enjoyable to work on and doing proofs is gay.
My senior year's gonna start in less than 1 month. Been trying my luck at fall co-ops and that sort of thing, but keep getting filtered out by most companies.
Even ones I apply less than an hour of the posting. Even local ones that hire a lot of grads from my school. Even government organizations looking for some chud to help them out with xyz data management thingie. Even after using AI to help specially tailor literally every single version of my resume I send out within reasonable bounds.
Since I've actually started getting interview invitations junior year but far too late, I actually seriously contemplated delaying graduation. But my sustained high rejection rate these days is putting these methods into serious jeopardy.
I just wish someone could've nepoed me into something these past summers. Was actually talking to this white freshman last spring (now a rising sophomore) who snagged some cybersecurity internship this summer despite knowing jack shit about it, which his mom got him.
>>106140815Discrete was super easy for me and I enjoyed it. Aced both of the ones I had to take.
Algos was a bit more of a struggle lol.
>>106140677>>106140780>calcI'm taking multivariate calc next semester, wish me luck anons.
Have you considered that potentially the reason you can't get a job but pajeet does is that you can't code?
https://kittenbeloved.substack.com/p/the-h-1b-delusion
>>106141286>"This is a golden age of employment for anyone good with a keyboard."What a load of bullshit
>>106141286I considered it and came to the conclusion if I lied as much as pajeets, then I would've had a job last year. But I still have some morals and an aversion to getting caught. Jeets won't rat on their own, but won't hesitate to rat me out.
Reminder that only 14,000 new payrolls were created last June
>>106141286but i'm applying for non-cooooder positions?
>>106140247but i have a job, just a low number of hours?

>>106140677i think math is all about what teacher you get and if they can relate it to anything tangible. i did terribly in calc 1 because the INDIAN prof just vomited out equations at us, but then in calc 2 the CHAD RUSSIAN prof illustrated everything with how it relates to calculating cross sections of solids or use in control systems and shit so it was much easier to conceptualize and internalize
>>106140780case in point
>>106141701There was a running joke at my university that they exclusively hire only TAs with the most incomprehensible accents to teach calc.

If you are an american on this board: why would you even consider studying cs and compete with 6 gorillion foreigners. You should do a comfy meche or aeroe degree and join a defense contractor.
>>106146238I feel like the code written by aero majors is probably the worst dumpster fire there is, probably would make a jeet proud. At least that's the feeling I got during an interview at an aero startup as a cs major with no aero experience. That their code is a mess, there will be tight deadlines with no time to write good code. Only to put out the fires. One of the thing I got told during the behavioral interview, is that "one of my developers pushed to git and wiped out the commit history. How would you handle yourself during such a devastating situation". I wanted to say I'm not a dumbass and I don't make mistakes as dumb as that.

I don't get it. Are westoids supposed to live easier or harder life than third worlders?
Is it extreme inaction that causes people to just drift and piss their lives away up to 29, 39, 49?
On other stories i would see people telling stories how they have to juggle between university while also having a job or else they can't pay it.
Third worlders like me have to get up at 4 to be at work at 8, and we only get to go clock out as early as 8 PM, got home at 10, and the only solace we have is reciting the Quran, zikr, and hadith everyday, sucking up to the wives/husbands of our superiors, while our govt rape our resources. We treat each other like shit while also saying we're humble polite bla bla bla but in reality we're just obedient fucktwats.

>"What comes after F in computer numbers?"
I got this question in an interview recently and didn't know how to answer. I said "that's the last one before it loops over in hex" thinking it was a trick and that saying "10" would be wrong since it's actually 16 in natural language/decimal, but 16 is also wrong since it's actually written out 10 if you keep it in hex.
They ended the interview immediately before I could explain my answer further and they had me escorted out.
Why do interviewers ask impossible questions, /g/? How is anyone supposed to get a job when it's like this?
>>106164533>They ended the interview immediately before I could explain my answer further and they had me escorted out.my guess: they were looking to terminate the interview. don't even bother worrying about it.

It's over. The rug has been pulled on everything.
>>106167560No its even worse then that. Healthcare workers are being replaced by the hospitals since the unions control the quality. The quality has shit the bed due to racism that puts whites and asians on the bottom of the totem pole. You have to be a black lesbian or a jew to get a chance to go to medical school.
The hospitals themselves are replacing union employees with foreigners, assistants and nurses. You will see a day when a single doctor runs 2 shifts and the entire floor. God forbid if he calls out sick/dies when the rotation happens to be at the ER where his skills set is needed most.

Was interviewing a pale Somalian/Ethiopian fellow called Assyria ( that was his actual name ). Age 29.
Incredibly quiet fellow all throughout; he'd write his answers in pseudocode first, filling up pages, proceed next, and all his verbalized explanations were incomprehensible. I suspect autism. When asked to 'simplify' further, he would hand me and my colleague ( Vanessa ) the pseudocode filled pages and say - 'that's explanation enough.'
Well, after discussion with Vanessa, we decided not to hire him. Sure, he answered every question perfectly ( about 15 HLCQ ), and sure, the pseudocode was great too, but Vanessa didn't like he wasn't communicating nice, how blunt he was.
The man stormed off looking just as he did stepping in. I don't think he cared for anything. He didn't even seem to know what 'gpt' or anything was ( I asked ). His laptop was a ProBook 6470b running windows 7. Pokemon stickers. Keyboard was missing eight keys.
He took all the pseudocode stuff too. It was 6 A4 pages of nonsense.
That same day, we hired a zoomie ( age 22 ) who was lively, spirited, and collaborative ( according to Vanessa ). He was clean, well dressed, well groomed, and smiling all throughout. Used a mac.
Incidentally, the Ethiopian/Somalian guy was wearing an anime shirt. You could tell once he took off his sweater, got into his car and drove off. He was wearing slippers the entire time.
Don't be like him.

I'm willing to stay in the general Denver area or move to pretty much any metropolitan area of like ~500k population or greater on the West Coast or the general area of Boston. Because this job market is awful I'm also considering Texas, Utah, and Arizona. This doesn't sound outrageously picky to me but man this shit just ain't working.
The last time I was job searching (2023) I sent out three applications and then landed some unrelated job 20 minutes from me that a recruiter offered me out of nowhere. (That job sucked and I regret taking it, but that's not the point). Fast-forward to 2025 and WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED, WHERE DID THE JOBS GO?

Just rig everything to work exactly how they ask you to and nothing more. If it takes more than a single day to do manually, automate it. If they ask you how long it will take, always factor in some time to slack and some time in case you can't figure it out immediately. Make sure that they think you're always working your ass off even when it's easy work. When they ask you to do something stupid, tell them that you'll look into it even if you already know it won't work Then come back with exact reasons why it won't work, and an alternative solution. Be sure to write your own documentation and log your work so you don't forget how to dissect your abomination a year later.

I'd just go top tier or bust. if you weren't willing to move to NYC, SF, Seattle, or at least some sort of hub for a while or were too lazy/intimitated to leetcode, I'd switch. if you aren't about that life for whatever reason, train into something more realistic. this isn't medicine where every town and city has a hospital to work at in every state. you're either on a good/viable project or you're not.
>>106190188>southeast and east asia (japan, thailand, taiwan, vietnam, philippines, indonesia, etc)doesn't these jobs pay like shit? i live in indonesia and most of us, just like indians would rather do remote jobs or get work visa to get dollars. how much do you get paid in SEA-tier salary?
honest to god, how do you guys make small income on the side while jobhunting?
>>106161034devs who suck at coding get hired because the hiring manager is an impostor whom doesn't want to get embarassed or found out that they never coded a day in their life, are the direct cause of all the failed projects they manage (which as all of their projects), is not technical, and is a fool.
There is nothing more terrifying to an impostor than a dev that can code.
>>106190632>workingGet a cagie-tier wagie job like
>>106189142And switch your brain off so you don't immediately neck
>>106190620>doesn't these jobs pay like shit? i live in indonesia and most of us, just like indians would rather do remote jobs or get work visa to get dollars. how much do you get paid in SEA-tier salary?I worked for a USA company for literally 300k USD/year remote. Of course I wouldn't get a SEA wagie job. If I went local I'd only go top tier like working for Grab/Agoda, but even those don't compete with USA.
outside of that, I'd just do solo development, fish for a western contract, teach english or do literally anything else. Software isn't worth doing for under $10k per month minimum. It's a soulless craft
>>106139123Depends on the job
>>106184401Two phone interviews is easy nigga i had 3 interviews per day last week and im still unemployed
>>106139135I do my own plumbing

>>106184354this year is the end of my freshman. And my now 2.9, do you think I have a chance to get intern on my sophomore?
Anyone else send themselves rejection emails right after an interview to pre-cope rejections? Couldnt just be me right? Hahaโฆ
>>106190620>i live in indonesiawhat's the best part of your country to buy a 100-200k property and sort of NEET out, ride motorcycles, read, and date some gals? Bali is absolutely a mess
>>106191234Surakarta, Central Java
Yogyakarta if you're feeling quirky
Bekasi if you want to feel something like Jakarta but less pretentious.
>>106190729Ohhh so you're an american working for jobs from the west but living in SEA?
>teach english or do literally anything else.Sounds great, how do you get this side gigs?
>>106191140Mass apply, no kidding. At least 30 jobs per week. Don't think too much about it and just click apply and send your resume. At least 3 per day after you eat breakfast or before dinner. Track your application on a spreadsheet. Dont set it up too long. Other than linkedin I'd recommend techinasia, kalibrr, and dealls. Try jobstreet and indeed too
Glints and kitalulus is fucking trash
But of course if you truly want to get hired faster you should reach out your career center in your uni. Talk to professors and your friends. See if they can get you into something.
Honestly any experience is good though, not just internship. See if you can work as a teaching / lab assistant. Most internship in indogland requires full commitment (i.e. you have to be in office and can't attend classes).
Also during long semester break, assuming you're not failing any classes and not repeating any, ask your parents if you can apply for certification program like this place https://www.idn.id/
Look really deep in what you want to be good at. If you like business aspect more in tech then get SAP / ERP training. Be good at leetcode as well but honestly you can use chatgpt for that.
Ask more and I'll try my best to answer.
Oh yeah and whatever you do DO NOT FUCKING GET ADDICTED TO PORN.
Hit the gym.
>>106139058 (OP)all that image shows is that vocational programs disguised as bachelors degrees make money and actual college degrees in liberal arts don't. like as if anybody needed to be told that.
>>106190729>300k USD/year remotejesus... how much money do you have saved up?
I feel like I have to do a jeet thing (I lied and I have to lie again so that no one questions the original lie) but I feel so dirty doing it.
>>106191597>Ohhh so you're an american working for jobs from the west but living in SEA?exactly. I worked nocturnally and slept morning until afternoon to do this. I was "based out of" Seattle on paper and knew several other guys doing this. Get a job on the west coast and then move to Asia to work at night. They never checked my logins or they simply never cared. I didn't hide it at all from a technical standpoint.
Thanks for the indonesia recommendation list. I knew of yogyakarta, but never heard of Surakarta. I'm here in bali visiting family who came to briefly visit asia. Before this, i had only ever been to Bandung, within ID. I liked how many basketball courts Bandung had.
>>106191676>jesus... how much money do you have saved up?I'm worth 1.5M and rising @ age 32, but I started my career at 60k/year -> 90k/yr -> 130k/yr -> 165k/yr before getting the 250-300k one for the past three years. My main tip is leetcode hard into the best company you possibly can. Sit unemployed to train longer if you have the priviledge to. Avoiding leetcode just to end up in a worse company with easy interview gets you the results you would expect: worse career progression, worse pay, dumber colleagues, worse codebase. LEETCODE IS THE BEST ROI aside from hitting the jackpot on building your own successful software.
Lots of good engineers make 200-300k remote after a decade btw. they at least did until the past couple years and many still continue to do so. I also attended a top university fwiw. not top for eng, but top overall.
>>106191597>Sounds great, how do you get this side gigs?haven't secured it, but has been my idea to hop into full time (20-30hr per week actually) if I wanted something to do and would get visa + a little income. not rushing into it now though
people do this in Vietnam and taiwan by going full time then taking some students private.
>2 year college degree
>2 years of helpdesk
>3 years of small business sysadmin
>get 2 worthless certs
>wake up every day to "Thank you for applying but we're not going with your shit fucking faggot resume" over and over and over
I don't get why you fags never talk about interesting stuff to make side money. have you ever visited blackhatworld.com?
btw, this thread is about to expire. someone pls bake.
So on my resume i put down my gpa as 3.7 because that's my "technical" gpa. on my transcript the cumulative gpa is 3.3. I decided not to lie and modify the unofficial transcript in case they request the official one. But how screwed am I with this discrepancy?
Just got an offer for $140k base, should I take it?
>>106191179Anon, I'll accept you
>>106193093If you're unemployed, yes. Then you can keep job searching while you're supported if you need to. Companies are like women, you're more desirable when you're already vetted and taken.
>>106192729>blackhatworld.comit's probably easier to just get a job than be successful at whatever the fuck they are posting about on that website
Another day of unemployment. It's already 2pm and I'm still at my desk in underwear since 5am. I think I'm just going to waste this whole afternoon and evening as well.
What about you?
>>106193876What kind of underwear?
>>106193093Why do you not want to take the offer?
>>106193957They are joe fresh/no name brand briefs. They're crusty, unfortunately. Maybe, tomorrow I might fix something. It's been a while...
