What cloud backup do you use for your porn?

I've just read about people getting perfectly legal porn deleted for Google Drive and Dropbox, including entire accounts blocked without warning. A bit concerning.

An online copy is not a backup because your host computer can go insane and overwrite it.

There are even pedantic faggots who insist clones are images not backups.

My porn is exclusively stored on physical media that I keep in my house.

Use an actual backup service not free file sharing. Or make an encrypted zip if you must use free file sharing.

I haven't used "cloud" file storage in many years. Maybe not since all the big ones were proven to be scanning every file and deleting things and banning accounts indiscriminately

Isn't a local and offline hard drive enough? Storing private and sensitive data through some online service seems risky

I was paranoid I might lose two drives at the same time again, but those were HDDs, Seagate, and quite possibly from a defective batch. I'm thinking with SSDs, and from another brand, the chances are much lower of it happening to me again, so I'm just going to buy an external SSD. The reliability does seem far better than it used to be with disk drives.

Over 5 years it works out almost 50% cheaper than paying for cloud storage. If I lose all my shit again, I'll just assume we're in a simulation designed specifically to fuck with me, and will an hero accordingly.

Thanks for the nudge, frens.

Mega seems to be okay in that respect, I was considering switching over to them before I caved and ordered another SSD, but yeah most of the others do seem pretty dodge.
