For example picrel is useless, it basically sets cfg to 2, you can bypass the node and set the cfg to 2 or 1 directly.

4+5 steps using lightx for a 720x1280 video with 113 frames.
This generates in 25min on my 3090.

Why does gen time suddenly take several orders of magnitude longer every time I change the resolution of an input input image? Specifically when it's a larger resolution like going from 480 to 720. It's quicker in subsequent gens but then goes back to extremely long if I reduce resolution then go up again.

i tried 912x512 video res and the H100 ran out of memory but the H200 can train on that resolution. 16s/it for full frame extraction, not sure if that's worth it, probably better to train things at a lower resolution

If you haven't already, set your CUDA - Sysmem Fallback Policy to Prefer No Sysmem Fallback. It will just fail when exceeding VRAM and not properly offloading to regular RAM through Comfy instead of taking an hour.

qwen image can do insane stuff, it's a qualitative leap over prior local models, but it still has limitations and quirks and is kind of bloated.I would hope to see either a de-slopping tune of it (though it's nowhere near as slopped as flux was), or future models that learn whatever there is to learn from its architecture and training methodology.

bottom line is qwen image is our deepseek, it trades blows with the SOTA proprietary models and proves local can still be cutting edge for image gen.

flux kind of had a similar problem. not many people bothered to make loras for it because it was a distill which made it fit at least but the lora results were kind of bad. we have the full weights this time but training qwen can't fit comfortably on 24GB VRAM. wan as an image gen is probably better in the long run

The fact it renders the characters so well means it was trained on simpsons, so there's absolutely no way it wasn't trained on the strangling gag
