I'm a weird guy also, with occasional peaks of arrogance and a wish for the world to read my words.
But it's crazy to me (if it's true) to see this guy thinking it's going to be useful to bomb random stuff. It's like he could not accept defeat or something, so he became chaotic.

I find it weird to think this guy is intelligent when I see its path. But maybe that's a lack of perspective? I'm not getting what he was trying to achieve by doing what he did. What led him to think "yeah I'm gonna bomb random people that'll show them".

I have fucked up thoughts, but they're always precisely targeted to individuals that fucked me up. And I'd prefer to isolate myself than to become even a justified murderer.
So why does this guy, having his faraway peace, still sent bombs? It's like he could never detach mentally from something.

Have you ever read a pop-sci article where they take some complicated topic and "explain" it at about a third grade level for the "I heckin' love science!" crowd?

That is what Kaczynski is to Ellul.

Have you ever met someone who swears they love and are fascinated by some topic, but they've never engaged in it in any way other than those pop-sci articles?

That is what Kaczynski fans are to Ellul.

>tl;dr: Go read Ellul, instead of reading a pop-sci level understanding of his ideas filtered through schizophrenia

Ted just broke, he tried to isolate but they just kept fucking with him and when he saw a piece of nature near his cabin asphalted he just snapped and started making those bombs I doubt he gave a fuck at that point, just wanted to make someone pay.

It isn't even that interesting. He was just a schizo. Industrial Society and It's Future literally ends with a long rant begging people to be non-violent, because if you are violent, people will focus on the violence and condemning it rather than the ideas you are attempting to call attention to. He wrote this after mailing people bombs. Truly the worst schizo idealized on this board. Even Terry was more interesting and coherent.

Yeah it exposed him as a pseudofundementalist and makes it easy to be sympathetic to the mkultra v2k stuff.

Why i think trying to sail to the inner earth is a more viable strategy than cabin in the woods

Tedcels don't want analysis they want to use his own shitty ideas to gussy-up their idolization of a terrorist as something deeper than it is.
Ellul was actually smart and never killed anybody. They're not interested.

I do feel some sympathy for him because he got MKULTRA'd. If that hadn't happened to him, he'd have just been some Number Theory professor and nobody would have ever heard of him unless they just happened to like that area of math. But he is extremely overrated and romanticized to hell for no real reason. His writings are just Ellul rewritten with simpler language and a simpler understanding of the ideas. He's dumber Ellul, plus mail bombs. He didn't originate the ideas. He didn't extend the ideas. He didn't really call extra attention to the ideas. All he did was make a dangerous schizo the face of the ideas, which might've been his actual purpose.
