Reminder to keep your phone screens clean and especially make sure your screen protector is applied properly and is clean too. It lowers the quality of what you're seeing if the screen protector has pubes and air bubbles under it.

Anyone who says Versus or NanoReview is wrong is the problem. These lying shills are just trying to feel better about their poor budget friendly mid tier device and refuse to accept the facts.
No amount of shilling will stop us from making this general great again. We will call out false statements and not let scammers trick people into thinking a horrible branded device for $400 could ever match a $1,200 flagship by Apple, Samsung or Google. Donโ€™t give the people (YOU)s they are looking to get you banned. Benchmarks and reviews will keep getting posted. Now the trolls are lying calling me Indian. Lol I live in NY in a completely paid off home lmao another thing impoverished shills cant afford. Such low IQ attacks.

Australians are the most annoying people on the internet. They only want to talk to other Australians. Like Brazilians used to spam BR? BR? in public channels in all the free MMOs 20 years ago.
Buy a digital camera and a flip phone, you retard and enjoy the sights, take a break from your phone. If you spend thousands of dollars to fly to the other side of the planet only to check Insta or watch TikTok, you're too stupid to breathe.

can someone tell me if i'm being too autistic about this.
I want to have my regular sim as an e-sim so I can use a physical sim when I am overseas (way cheaper).

But I also want to be able to use 2 e-sims simultaneously if I need to get an e-sim while overseas (don't want to inactivate my regular as some services require sms 2factor not app and it is a hassle).

I also want a SD card slot and aux port, nfc.

No idea what phone I could get that would satisfy those requirements.
I live in Australia and I want my phone to be compatible with Starlink texting as more phones get added to the compatibility list.

Very simple and ad-free notepad app that can import/export .txt files, while similar apps I've tried have tiny char limits and sometimes annoying ads. This Farmer guy might be losing interest in upkeep, I'm starting to suspect.

I have a specific problem with my phone. After many years of solid usage the adhesive gave in and the screen now dangles on the connection cord. The phone still works but the screen is unresponsive and only turns on when I angle the screen in a specific way. Unfortunately the phone has 2.0 USB so from what I read I can't hook it up to an external monitor/tv and I don't have USB debugging on to mirror it. Would I still be able connect a peripheral to it with an adapter, and turn on USB debug to mirror it on the PC or am I just fucked?

i'd say go motorola because the plain old google software is simpler to use. samsung has software integrations aplenty up front and its a mess to clean up unless you care to use their software. id say samsung is good for someone coming from an iphone because i notice a lot of similarities between one ui and ios, but id say just go motorola so you only have to worry about one google login and not worry about samsung or microsoft stuff all at once

Is a Galaxy A36 worth it for me? 256GB currently for โ‚ฌ273, I don't use my phone for anything special, just surfin the web, would like to have a decent battery since I often take it on long walks and use it for recording birds and taking pictures of insects and plants and stuff. Camera is not extremely important, decent is enough since whenever I go somewhere I bring my good camera anyways. I know nothing about phones and stuff so I was wondering wether there's any real better phones for that money. I'm used to Android and like that it's more transparant than iOS (like you can go into the system files, where for iOS you have to jailbreak) but I've heard that this is also not the case anymore? There's just so many brands and models that I get lost looking for what would be the best for me. Most of the stuff you find here is Samsung, Apple, Motorola and Xiaomi

And what about a Google Pixel 8A or 9A? I can put in a higher budget if needed but I don't think I want to go over โ‚ฌ600. As I said I'm mainly looking for good battery life and decent enough camera quality. Dual nanoSIM would also be handy for work but isn't absolutely necessary. I also like my phone to fit my pocket so I was looking for a 6-6.5" screen.

This is our only defense we have against people that come in to this thread and lie. It's nothing personal against anybody's favorite device. It's just the simple facts. Nobody is out to get you, but when you're openly coming into this thread and lying and then getting upset when you get called out for it that's just ridiculous.

Maybe slightly offtopic but I figure this is a great place to ask. I've been looking for a tablet to watch random bullshit on
Right now I have some ancient dirt cheap Lenovo one but it takes literal minutes just to open Firefox on it at this point so I've been meaning to upgrade
It will 95% of the time just be used to watch series, movies, youtube, etc
OLED is a must and like 12" would be nice but if there's a great deal I'd be okay with 10" again too
Does anyone have some recommendations or should I really just dump 800 bucks on a Samsung one? Just seems very overkill for my use case

Why does nobody just make an OLED tablet with the specs of a budget phone? You don't need more than Helio G99 to read comics and watch movies on a portable OLED screen. 60Hz OLED screen, 1200p, budget chipser, costs 200 euro at most.

USB-C headphones adapters are shit, off-brand ones get really warm even at idle probably wasting power on the OnePlus and Galaxy devices I tried. Maybe they don't do that if you get a Samsung adapter for a Samsung phone but those are overpriced and at that point you're doing exactly what they want you to do when they removed the headphone jack - paying extra for an unnecessary gay extension. Bluetooth is a better option. I don't know if the audio quality is worse than with good wired 3.5 mm headphones but I miss not having to worry about charging headphones.
At first I missed the micro SD card extensions on new smartphones but these days even with larger files it's much harder to fill up your internal memory depending if you had considered and got the right configuration with enough storage for your use case and modern internal storage is much faster than anything SD cards can offer.

T9 typing is fun
This isnโ€™t replacing my iPhone for personal use

Hereโ€™s my problem
>I canโ€™t turn off the god damn keypad sounds
I have tried everything in every corner of the settings, every setting for the t9 keyboard, it doesnโ€™t matter what I do, I have to mute every single sound for the keypad boops to turn off
And originally it did that with both the keypad noises and vibration on key press but enabling battery saver disables all vibration thankfully
What the fuck do I do here lmao
It is massively annoying to hear rapid dial tone noises while t9 typing, but I canโ€™t leave it muted forever, it does need to ring

Further digging
The keypad sounds are tied to the call and text alert sounds
If itโ€™s vibration only, the keypad vibrates with battery saver off
If I turn battery saver off but leave calls/notifications on vibrate only, I get no vibration anyway
If I have calls/notifications turned on as normal, the keypad boops and vibrates
What do I do here to untie the keypad from that volume slider?

Okay, which part of "reasonably priced" was unclear?

I've never bought a flagship phone and I never will. They'll be just as obsolete in three years time as the midrange option. I bought Xperias because they were cost-effective, and back in the day the compact models were ideally sized for me to use one handed. I made my XZ1 Compact last for almost seven years (thanks lineageos!). I was bitterly disappointed to see the compact models discontinued, but at least the full-sized successors stuck with the low-bloat approach. When I got my current 10 IV, I zapped the default installed facebook app with adb and was overjoyed to see that subsequent os updates didn't try to restore it. Every other brand of phone I see people around me use is weighed down by some unnecessary junk that they are bothered by but can't exactly do anything about (adb is black magic to the majority of the population). Xperias make a good effort to not drown the users in garbage, and I applaud Sony for getting at least that one thing right.

Pretty much any mainstream option from 5ish years ago is cheap and plenty capable. You can get a pixel 4A for under 100$ and itโ€™s plenty fast enough for anything modern while still being a decently nice phone.
This is opposed to buying modern low end where you kinda compromise on the display quality and overall material quality versus an older mainstream phone which will be just as fast if not faster.

As for the size, After having a 'big' phone (5.5") in the later 2010s and switching to a Xiaomi with a 6.8" diagonal which was a bit big even tho I have big hands I have found a final solution to that issue, and it's in the OP.
Some of the xperia are only 6.0 inches, AND it's very tall, like 21:9, so that is reduced even further. And you get an SD slot, headphone jack as a bonus

When it comes to browsers, I'm currently using the Samsung browser over Chrome but I've read that Brave is the best one. What do most people use here?

Also, I wanna rice my phone a bit but it's been ages since I last did that (nova launcher, icon packs, etc). Is there some type of ricing guide for android?

S24+ Factory Unlocked Excellent condition $449 vs S25+ Factory Unlocked Excellent condition $649? US anon so both are snapdragon. I don't really game beyond some gacha I just need a replacement for my current phone that's 4 years old

Is it worth the extra 200 for the S25+? The S24+ would be tax free for me right now since it's sub 500

Most Americans use Apple, meaning that iMessage is baked into the default messages application - most people don't want to install another application if 80% of their contacts use iMessage.

Americans got unlimited SMS very early, so other messaging applications did not really catch on. Doesn't help that most Americans don't really have friends/family in other countries...

Honestly? I'm just going to pull the screen out my s10e, replace the power button, and keep using it. If I had to buy a new phone today? I'd probably just give up on android at this point and just admit defeat and get an iPhone Se 3.

One UI7 is just ass, buggy, and laggy compared to oneui 6.1 on my S24. 700ish dollar phone turned into an irritating paperweight by unpolished software. In actual use its actually slower than the pixel 8a I tried and did not like.

I stayed with Samsung because it was the only "small" phone that was not slower than my S10e, and I did get spoiled by the Link-to-Windows thing that doesn't actually work with any non Samsung devices well. I really liked the one UI3-6.1 era where Samsung baked in literally every feature I ever liked in in custom roms and Xposed modules. It was pretty much perfect as far as I was concerned for a phone UI.

I tried the pixel 8a mostly because I did not realize how ass "bare" android was. I was not actually all that aware that OneUI, or MotoUI, or Asus and basically everyone else added so many features to the base OS. I used the 8a for a few weeks before actually returning to use the broken S10e for a few months.

How bad is Samsung these days with bloat? For note my last phone was a S5 and it was from Verizon bloated to hell and back.

Basically going to be in Korea a lot over the next few years and was told to just get a Samsung as everything there is Samsung pay or wants the specific shit. I do remember being there a while back and most shit wouldn't work on my phone only to find out it's not a Korea brand.

Was thinking just going to pick up a 6 or 8gb A17(want the e-sim), I have another phone but just need something for the going out day to day stuff

If you're the type of person to call all the Samsung apps (notes, browser, gallery, etc.) bloatware, then yes it's bloated as fuck.
If you're a normal person, then no there's practically no bloatware if you buy unlocked and not from a carrier.
